Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Well here we go.... Again I would hate to sway anyone away from any business in these uncertain times and instability in our economy.... but sometimes I have to voice my opinion either for an excellent or not so excellent experience! Here is a situation where the food was so bad that each and every member of my family walked away hungry not wanting any more food even though they were all starving ... If I could guess I would say there's no way a restaurant could serve such tasteless and or just bad tasting food°° 🤔 I was convinced they had made a mistake and added spices and herbs that was meant for another dish and not having anything to do with "Hawaiian' theme. With that I would say whole heartedly I would be surprised of anyone was to find any of there food acceptable to any taste bud or standards. Hope you don't take a chance and try to find out for yourself how bad this organization is because it's on the higher end of "fast-food" base pricing with plates starting around $11.50 and up with little meat to veggies ratios all around. ...

2025/03/17 Update:

I tried their limited time special, the Lava Shrimp plate, I ordered it without salad and extra rice.

As implied by it’s name, it’s hot, but the heat was not immediate, it took a while for the heat to hit me, at first it was hot enough to give it flavor but after a while, my mouth heated up!

It came with about 12 shrimps.

It was good. I’m glad I ordered a large soda tho😜

This was the First time I ate at this location , been meaning to stop by for a while now, if I finally got a chance to eat here.

The store is in the back of a shopping mall with plenty of parking spaces, it’s right besides Wendy’s (south of it). I say this as it is easy to miss.

The place is big and clean, the service is friendly and professional. The food is pretty much the same delicious Hawaiian bbq food Ono serves

35 years old, and out all my life, this by far has to be the most unprofessional establishment i've ever been to. They served me pink/uncooked chicken. when i went back to notify them they said "that's how it's supposed to, any more cooked it will burn." then refused to make me a new plate or even TRY to rectify it. Instead I had to fight for a refund but only after I had to leave, go get my debit card and return. Mind you... this is the Manager i'm arguing with at this point. I've been there several times throughout the years, cuz damnit, when the food is good, the food is good... but the staff? Including Esmeralda.... trash, throw em all away! Only after posting to social media did a gang of other people come forward to me about this establishment and they're too...
