Nordstrom — Local services in Los Angeles

12/13/23 noon - Just got home from the mall. My daughter and I had planned to buy some Charlotte Tilbury. Walked up and was looking at the displays. The heavily made-up young woman in all black said something like Hello and then looked straight forward as if we were not there. We looked and asked one another questions as she stood 3 feet from us, completely ignoring us. It bothered my daughter so much, that she said, “Let’s go to Sephora.” I asked why and she tugged me forward. I asked if it’s because she was ignoring us. She replied, “Yes, she won’t even look at us.” As we strolled around past the Coach purses, we stopped at the Trish McVoy counter and once again, we were ignored after a glance and split second of eye contact. I looked over at the woman at Charlotte Tilbury, who was now holding her phone up prominently texting on it. Mind you, we were dressed nice casual, carrying Coach purses. We don’t look homeless. Check your security footage. You see what I’m describing. Here’s the deal… I work for an elite celebrity who lives in Hidden Hills. In less than two hours, between Macy’s and Sephora, we dropped $5k this morning alone. It felt very much like Julia Robert’s in Pretty Woman. If your associates think they are too good to help us when the store wasn’t even busy, we will let stores and associates that aren’t pretentious make commissions off our purchases. Not a good look Nordstroms. You don’t have be the rich and famous to be shopping FOR the rich and famous. We go to this mall at least three times weekly. Nordstrom just took themselves...

Two days ago I received a letter in the mail telling me a payment was past due and that Nordstrom had not yet received my current month's payment. Later the same day I received a call from a young man who said he was from credit collections and stating that unless I gave him my debit card number or the routing number on my personal checking account, the "credit bureau" required him to report my account as delinquent by November 2. I apologized and told him I had never received a bill but I did live in an area of Woodland Hills that has been plagued by mail box thefts at homes and even at our local post offices. He skipped over that quickly with scarcely an acknowledgement, saying instead that none of my statements had been returned to Nordstrom. I then informed him I did not have a debit card and I would not give him the routing number on my checking account, though how that could be used to pay over the telephone I had no idea. I have been a Nordstrom customer for more than 30 years and to be essentially threatened to pay a bill I had never received that was not yet 60 days past due and totaled but $50 seems a bit much. I will, of course, pay the outstanding amount forthwith. I will also cancel my account and refrain from any further shopping at Nordstrom to relieve them of future angst and desperation. I have to wonder what happened to the store of yesteryear when customer accommodation...

I had ordered a few suits online for an upcoming meeting and decided to try on the jackets in-store to get a feel for the two different colors. I was heading to the mirror room and Ryan chose to accompany me although he really didn't have to.

Ryan engaged by making light conversation while I tried on my jackets and as we got to chatting, he revealed that he used to work in Washington DC and offered his opinion on the two suits I had purchased. I was grateful for his opinion as I am usually going it alone and ended up selecting a suit and getting it tailored with Nordstrom instead of with my usual tailor. It is a nice addition that Nordstrom also presses the suit for you after tailoring.

After we had finished all that I had mentioned to Ryan that I was in the market for new shoes and he was very helpful in recommending some dark brown options to accompany my navy suit, as opposed to my usual black dress shoes. I do think the dark brown looks much better and will be purchasing a pair.

Overall, Ryan made my experience at Nordstrom Topanga wonderful! We got a lot done in a short amount of time and I am ready for my meeting. Thank...
