LAX has consolidated all of their parking ramps into a single system with online reservations and promising the convenience of parking near your gate for just a little more $ than an offsite lot
Unfortunately, their new system provides an extremely stressful and aggravating experience - BUYING AND RESERVING ONLINE DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPOT WHEN YOU ARRIVE.
Three trips now, I reserved a spot in P4 or P5, only to find myself waiting with 4-5 other cars - continuously circling the ramp, going up and down levels to find an open space. No attendants are available to assist or help you with finding a spot or another option. You are left on your own to search and find a spot that you have already been promised, but LAX has failed to hold open for you
With your departure time rapidly approaching, your blood pressure rises considerably as you desperately wait for someone to return from their trip and free up a space. If you're lucky, you've waited in the right spot - but you'll still need to fight off another car who is jockeying to steal the spot first.

P5 and P6 require you to circle back around the entire airport and enter from the ARRIVALS level. The design efficiency of the entire airport is something that third world countries have figured out better than here.
That said, when leaving, pay at the kiosk before getting back into your car (the time of payment will dictate how long you "parked") and the kiosk will spit your ticket back out to you to present to another machine upon exiting.
There is a 15 minute grace period between kiosk payment and...
Read moreJust a heads up for those who have travelled long distance to LAX and in really need to charge. Most of the charging station at this location are usually occupied by non EV or EV but not charging. They are just using the EV charging station spot because it is close to the street/ parking entrance and the parking management didn't do a thing to enforce it. Also beware when the parking is full, the people who work there won't close the parking structure (P.6) right away. So you will end up circling around wasting time to look for any available spot, and at the end when you can't find any spot, you still have to pay the 1st hour $5 when you exit the ...
