Let me tell you all something: I walked from Terminal B to Terminal 6 in slippers to eat here because a friend recommended it. My feet ached, I was sweating because I'd brought a jacket to prepare for my flight to Melbourne (which was nearing the end of winter during this time), and all I wanted was a vegan burger and seven gallons of water. When I learned that I would have a four hour layover in LAX between my flight from Kansas City to Melbourne, I knew exactly where to eat. And I was determined to eat here, hence the willingness to make such a long trek. So, perhaps it is because of this long journey that I was disappointed by my meal. It wasn't a bad burger, of course, and it definitely sustained my through the remainder of my flight, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I'd expected. I'm taking into account that this is food made at an airport, so the standards should be a little lower, but... the fries were cold and flimsy, the burger didn't hold together well, and there wasn't much content on the burger. I had one tomato, three enormous pieces of lettuce, the burger, and the bun. That was the burger. I would love to give Golden Road Brewing another shot. Perhaps it was just a bad day there or something. For it to have come so highly recommended by friends gives me pause, hence giving this location four stars. I imagine I just happened to go on the wrong day.

We had the worst experience with Steve at the register. My husband is allergic to mushrooms so he asked for the grown up grilled cheese without mushrooms. Steve starts giving attitude about the grilled cheese and that it’s a blend. My husband asked what people do when they have an allergy. Are they advised not to get the grilled cheese at all? Next thing we know Steve violently rips the waters out of my hands (I’m standing right next to my husband) saying “nope you get nothing” and walks away. We were absolutely stunned. As he’s doing this I asked to speak to a manager and he says “no” and continues to walk away. Meanwhile there’s a line of 10-15 people deep behind us and no one at the register. We still wanted to order food before our flight. Finally a woman from the kitchen stuck her head out of the window. We asked her for a manager so she got Bryan. We spoke to Bryan and told him what happened, how we were shocked, but just wanted to order food. His attitude problem, verbal responses, snatching the waters out of my hands, and stomping off was completely unexpected and uncalled for, but especially when we just had a couple of questions about the food menu. In the end Bryan took our order. We ended up leaving with another grilled cheese option that didn’t have mushrooms which is all Steve had to do.

Golden Road is located in Terminal 6 of Los Angeles Airport. We’d had a long flight and it was time for something to drink to wind down. Although Golden Road was pretty full, there was a good turnover on the tables and we were quickly seated. It was warm so I ordered a Corona which was perfectly cold and the usual lime in the top. My friend ordered a Bloody Mary. The food looked amazing and a family next to us ordered nachos which they let me snap a photo of. They said I could try some, which I did – delicious. Golden Road also has a takeaway section at the left of the entrance, so if you want to grab a premade sandwich and a drink, this is where you go. Staff were lovely, fast and efficient. Easy access for anyone with a disability. Prams can also navigate through the tables. Dietaries can be catered for, so please ask the wait staff.

Airport restaurant owned by a local brewery. Not sure why others are complaining. In my two visits to the restaurant, one as a Priority Pass customer and other as paying customer, I enjoyed the meals, beers and service. Its not a fine dine restaurant and its located in one of busiest airports of the country. The prices are typical airport prices, beers are definitely better than other restaurants at LAX (it is owned by a brewery) and speed of service is dependable on rush at the time.

The restaurant accepts priority pass, and they check it upfront. This is because they don’t accept Amex platinum sponsored priority pass, and want to avoid the confusion later. For all those who are complaining about this, it is NOT restaurant’s fault or decision. It is because Amex stopped paying Priority pass to allow its customers use the restaurant credits. So stop blaming the restaurant for it and go complain to Amex.

Contrary to what others have said, I found the servers here to be prompt and to the point. Yes they don’t have time for the small talk, (remember they are operating at one of the busiest airports), but they are good at what they are supposed to. If you tell them you are short on time, they understand and try their best to get your food as soon...
