Heads up, orders over 75 dollars automatically include 20% tip on the bill. If you’re not paying attention you’ll tip again. Don’t tip on orders over 75! Food is gross, staff standoffish. Great atmosphere (good on ya).

I got a few responses from the company and GM after this review, please see below. Latest response is right below, older and initial response below that.

I responded that while I really appreciate the follow up and that this shows leadership I still disagree with the auto tip for orders 75.00 and up. Seems too low.

Edit

Got a response from The General Manager ,please see below:

"Hello, my name is Adam Boutelle and I am the General Manager for B Grill. Thank you for taking some of your time to share the details of your experience with us. The time you chose to spend with us is valuable and we appreciate it. I would like to apologize for the experience you had at B Grill. You are correct that there is a way to handle things and it sounds like we missed the mark with your visit in regards to service and your meal. We would like to invite you back or make it up to you somehow, on us. Do you frequent LAX often? If not, would you like a refund? We appreciate you choosing us and would love an opportunity to change your mind. Thank you, Adam."

Edit

responded to company response from below. Waiting to see what they say. Here is my response to them in full...

"per your response to my Google review I have detailed my reasons for the two stars from a standpoint of specificity, so here it goes.

My review is based off what I would consider a standard and par experience at any bar, Let alone a steakhouse.

I went straight to the bar and had to sit in front of an unbussed section with half eaten food and crumbs for much longer than I thought appropriate. The bartender had a very laid back vibe to her to the point of indifference. I could tell she was having or had had a long day.

I watched her response to other patrons as similar. they would ask questions like, " Can I get some hot water for my water bottle, now that may have been against policy but bartender who was having a bad or long day may have responded by saying (with a smile), "I'm sorry I can't do that directly but I could absolutely pour it in a cup for you if you'd like, I'm sorry I can't do more".

It took forever for her to take my drink order and twice as long to get my food order. You may have been understaffed at that time so I can't speak to that but I did notice that there were only four people at the bar at that time and most of the dining tables were empty, so at least the lack of hustle wasn't due to that.

The food is substandard but that may be an airport bar problem and altogether an unreasonable expectation to have quality food at a place like yours. I had the turkey wrap, which tasted like a heated up wrap from 7-11.

That whole automatic tip for orders over 75 dollars?? considering the price point of the drinks, people are going to hit that pretty easily. That is predatory and the majority of the reason for the two stars. My main purpose in posting the review was to give people a heads up on that...

I had a meal here last week after walking the whole of LAX (11k steps total) I waited at the podium for a short time and was asked by a staff member behind the bar to seat myself where I wanted. (That was pretty cool)

I took a seat near the window and got to enjoy the OUTSTANDING VIEW of an aircraft literally pulling in to the jetway right below me.

The staff member (I wanna say her name was Yuliana, she had close cropped hair and very artistic tattoos on her arm) took my drink order and was friendly but not plastic or overbearing.

The bloody Mary I ordered was on target! I also ordered the Caesar salad and had no complaints. As I enjoyed my order I heard staff right behind me laughing and cheering from the kitchen area. This was REALLY ENERGIZING and made my experience even better to feel the energy from the staff on duty.

I was unsure on what I wanted to have for the main event so the very artistically endowed staff helped me choose the steak entree and also asked if I wanted another bloody Mary (of course)

The steak hit the spot and I felt happily obese after all that food. The Artistically endowed staff member bought my check and threw me a GENUINE SMILE as she continued on in her work day.

My overall experience was SINCERELY POSITIVE. I hope when people read this review they understand that if you eat at an airport you will PAY. THATS REALITY.

There is nothing worse than a customer who wants to be treated like royalty while spending 25 cents and playing victim or acting the sob story 👎

You want QUALITY? PAY UP. You want economy? Pack your own snacks. Welcome to REAL LIFE.

I will be back in LA for a short trip in December. You can COUNT ON ME to stop by B Grill in T7 once again. REAL TALK.

I ordered a BOA burger which tasted average, but it was pricey which I expected at an airport. When I was seated, a man brought me to a table with water ring spots and sneakily dropped a napkin to cover it which initially didn't really bother me. But as my time went the service worsened. My plate was oily on the bottom and this my utensils the server dropped on the table were also oily with fingerprints (which also I didn't get bothered with I initially since I didn't use the utensils) I finished eating quickly. I waited with my empty plate and cup for at least 10 minutes. I saw other people getting serviced and refills and checked on, but not me once I wanted to talk to a server, which I did try to get her attention. I actually wanted dessert but I had my plate cleared without anything being said to me as the lady sped off fast. So I sat without a plate and my empty cup at my empty table for at least 5 minutes. Then I had my small check paper dropped at the corner of my table (not in a book like everyone else I saw getting). And I waited at least another 10 minutes for my card to be collected for payment and still it was taken without a word. I can be empathetic that it is busy, but I've worked at a restaurant for eight years and a little communication would've gone a long way. I didn't mind a lot of things at first that happened since I know how it is as a server, but it all just added up that I felt like I had to leave this review. I would not recommend as the food was just average and there are so many other options at the airport I'm sure you can...

PLEASE READ 🚨 This is by far was the worst breakfast dining experience I’ve had. I understand it’s an airport restauraunt, so the bar is already low, but this was an extremely dissapointing experience. The breakfast food was unappetizing and frankly, misleading! For example, the “Avocado Toast”did not have actual avocado on it. In its place was store bought guacamole and pico de gallo. The scrambled eggs I added were very overcooked and tasteless. The omelette in the “Healthy Breakfast” was also extremely bland, and overall neither dish was worth the 20+ USD. What really pissed us off were the sneaky additional expenses. Although our waitress was nice, she failed to inform us that an additional scrambled eggs would be 5 USD, and that substituting whole for oat milk in two lattes would be 3 USD. The pricing is not the issue. It is the fact that our waitress CONTINUED to ask us if we wanted to include add-ons without informing us of the charges. Not to mention the automatic 20% tip applied. This left us having to pay over 100 USD in total for 2 breakfast dishes and 3 lattes. Outrageous. This restauraunt felt like a huge scam, and I hope anyone fortunate/smart enough to check reviews first sees this before choosing to come here.
