I believe that I am a fairly even-tempered person. It is not very often that a single staff member ever ruins a meal for me or upsets me to the point that I have to leave a restaurant. The unfortunate thing is that is exactly what occurred today at Rock and Brew in Terminal 5 at LAX Airport.

When we arrived it was 3/4 full with 3 servers attending customers. After being seated, it took 25 minutes and not a small amount of hand-waving to get a servers attention. The drinks they brought were excellent. I highly recommend their signature Bloody Mary or the Metal Mule. Fantastic.

A different server comes back over after a couple minutes and informs us that our server went on break and he would be back in a minute to get a food order. No worries. 30 Minutes later I am tired of waiting and trying to flag down a server while being what is obviously ignored because it is not their table. The manager was up at the kiosk entering orders so I walked up and asked if I could give him our order. He asked where I was sitting and I told him. He said and I quote, " You just sit down and wait. We only have two servers and you will get your order taken when your server gets back". I explained that we had been waiting a half hour and I have a simple order that I would like to place. Other people have been seated, ordered and already received food while I am still waiting on the server "to be right back". He just said to sit down and wait.

If the restaurant was actually full like many airport restaurants I have been to, or had there not been 4 servers and not the 2 he claimed, I might have taken less offense to his rude attitude. There is a difference between someone being busy while working and someone who is a jerk. He was the latter.

We walked up to the register to pay for our drinks because I wasn't waiting for him to spit in our food. The cashier took our card and had to go to the back kiosk to ring it up with the rude manager. She brought our card back and we asked for the receipt to sign. She said there was no need, because the manager added a gratuity of 20% himself without asking.

My wife led me away before I could combust. I do not recommend anyone eat at this restaurant. Photos of the manager and also the receipt are attached to this review. He is the "gentleman" in the...

I totally don’t recommend this place we sat down and my family members had purchased a drink everyone was sitting down but one my family members wasn’t even in the way and they told him he could stand at the bar so we asked if he could sit behind us and then my other family member was going to sit with him and they told her she could not sit with him so we decided to get up amd leave . One the girl host at the entrance was cussing for idk what reason like what kind of ppl is that .so any who one of are family member stayed to pay the open tab and they tried coming for one my family member to charge her up when her husband was still at the bar so I went back to look for him and obviously to make sure they closed out and the people where making me feel threatened when I walk back ask me to not walk to the bar it was so uncomfortable for me specially know the lady behind me by the was cussing . So I still went close to my family member to make sure he was okay because he was alone there and all the ppl working there where making it a big deal for nothing and we did not even do anything. As a business owner or manager I would want the best customer service for anyone . Not cuz them out or try to kick us out when there a open tab . Because if we did not pay that tab they probably would called the cops or something I think they where looking for drama . I honestly don’t recommend it no wonder there ratings are so bad shake my head . Ohh let me just put at there how is it okay to have a baby chair for a baby at the bar but a and adult can’t stand there like wow lol ! There service suck . Zero stars they don’t even...

I’m from California but from the Bay Area but I live in Texas… I tell all my Texas friends that I am soooooo EXCITED to fly into LAX to eat good food just to get to Rock and Brew in LAX I get there and received bad service and bad food!!! The waiter I had was soooooo freaking rude… he had the nastiest attitude ever… as a waiter it’s ideal to make the customer happy and comfortable so that they can order hecka food plus tip well… I ordered Asian chicken wings and asked for well done( they were actually under cooked!!)…, then I said can I order fries he said I guess, if u want too!!! (Nasty attitude) then he walked away.. my food came and guess what? No fries smh .. he had them sitting on the counter elsewhere…then I asked another waiter where do I pay and he just pointed so I assumed he meant pay at the bar so I walked to the bar and ask hey? Do I pay here? And guess what? He had a bad attitude as well and shrugged his shoulders and said no u don’t pay here so I went back to my table and waited for the next guy to come back.. that whole experience ruined my appetite!!!! I just paid grabbed my things and left … I would put all of their names down on here but I don’t want anyone to lose their jobs I just want them to do better and have better customer service… my food was waaaayyy to expensive to come there and it to be under cooked , fries left on the counter and bad attitudes especially when I was soooooo excited to go eat there and get...

Wish I would have checked reviews because wow... This place is awful. Let's start from the beginning. The hostess, rude and barely acknowledged me before taking my name and rudely saying now step aside. Once I finally was sat i noticed the general disregard for cleanliness and maintenance here. The floors are disgusting, the tables are coming apart and the walls are let's just say, covered in "things"... So I haven't eaten much today and said screw my healthy diet I want a burger. Bad Decision...... The bun, AWFUL, dry as heck and flavourless. Then the meat, no way this is ground chuck... It was overly greasy, had ZERO flavour, and was overcooked (Didn't have time to send this thing back mind you). They use iceberg lettuce which is uber cheap for them and provides ZERO nutritional value for you and the rest of the toppings, nothing went together. At all. My service was okay minus my empty glass for 10 minutes. The only good part were the fries. But, let's be honest. 🥔 and hot oil. Can't screw that one up. But at $17 for this thing I would have sent it back and walked out of the restaurant if I were outside the airport. I am on a soapbox and I apologize for that but seriously LAX you suck as it is and this restaurant is making you even worse. The end.

If I could leave a negative star as a review, I certainly would. My experience at this bar was disappointing, largely due to the behavior of the bartender, Jairo, who was consistently rude and seemed agitated throughout my visit. Every time I attempted to place an order, I felt a sense of anxiety, worried that he would react poorly. I overheard another bartender asking him if he wanted to close out customers to split the tips, which made me question the professionalism of their service. Jairo kept expressing his desire to leave early, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone. There were signs posted indicating that a 20% gratuity is included in the bill, which only emphasizes how subpar the service was. During my time there, I spoke with four random strangers who were also sitting at the bar, and they echoed my feelings of disappointment. We all ended up sharing a laugh about it, but it was bittersweet, reflecting how sad and frustrating the situation had become. As someone who travels often, I’ve come to expect a certain standard of service, and it’s clear that this establishment is falling short. We desperately need better service, or at least the bare minimum of professionalism and courtesy from the staff.
