I have been a loyal client to the Porsche family of products for several years. Overall, my history of experience in acquiring vehicles from Porsche has been amazing until my most recent experience, when began a new relationship with the Woodland Hills Porsche Dealership and their respective salesperson, Mr. David Lang. From the outset, David made me feel like he was doing me a huge favor by selling me a car that had just become available, since inventory issues have plagued the marketplace. After reviewing all the financial drivers associated with my most recent purchase of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, it is evident to me that he overcharged me and in a quite formidable fashion, made me feel like I did not have a choice in the matter; this is granted that the vehicle was beautiful and one of the only ones available considering the current inventory-related supply chain issues that are rampant in the market. Nonetheless, considering that I have two small children and needed a more suitable solution to support my family dynamics, I proceeded with the purchase of the vehicle and paid their higher fees and markups accordingly, and even purchased all recommended maintenance-related programs, accepting all of the current challenges and constraints that were explained to me by the sales & finance team.
The very next day, not even within 24 hours of purchasing my new vehicle, it broke down entirely and for all things, "engine-related issues" when the engine is supposed to be one of the most stable, consistent and compelling features of the vehicle. This event left me and my 2 young children (4 month-old baby and 2 year-old Son) completely stranded on the side of the road. Fortunately, I was able to get myself and my family home and immediately contacted the Woodland Hills Porsche Dealership for support. They got me into a loaner, smaller and less accommodating at first, then have updated that vehicle to something more comparable with my recent purchase, in terms of cabin space.
Subsequently, Mr. David Lang, who sold me the vehicle called me back and informed me that the vehicle had a nationwide recall that pertains to repairs required to preclude the "engine related issues" from occurring with the year/make and model of my vehicle that I just purchased. He indicated that they weren't aware of this recall prior to selling the vehicle to me and that they have no lead time to offer as to when they will receive the parts to restore the vehicle, due to the supply chain issues in the industry, etc. Much to my dismay after spending top dollar for quite a sizable purchase of one of your top-end vehicles from the Porsche family of products, I expressed my complete disappointment & dissatisfaction with these events and complete lack of solutions on the immediate front. Rather than expressing any hint of concern nor an apologetic sentiment at all, David told me "too bad that the car had an issue" and told me he could simply refund my money and I can be on my way. He did not apologize for putting me and my family in harm's way with a vehicle that completely broke down mid-drive with young children by my side, communicating absolutely no regard at all to the position he put me into. It seemed alarmingly evident that all David cared about was the commission and he mentioned to me that there is a line of people available and waiting, and that he could fix my vehicle, facilitate my refund and then turn around and resell it to someone else, which I found most offensive. Most unfortunate is the current bind that I am in and remain with, which is the fact that I still do not have the vehicle that I purchased and I am in a situation where I cannot just return the car since I still need a respective mode of transportation for my family.
