Let me preface this review by saying I love Target. I hate shopping and will make every attempt to avoid doing so with my significant other, with the exception of Target. Even though I do 99% of my shopping online; Target is one of two stores I look forward to throwing my money at in person.
My family and I were in Woodland for a birthday party and stopped by fifteen minutes after opening and the store was NOT showtime ready. I have worked in management for a large big box competitor for over thirty years and was genuinely shocked at how disheveled the store looked first thing in the morning. Do they not block down in the evening/morning? Do they only stock product during the afternoon? Does no one care about setting a minimum standard at this location?
Having had so much experience in this field, I initially chalked up the lack of cleanliness and stocking to perhaps being short staffed do you sick calls or the current wave of quiet quitting. My gut told me otherwise; but I will allow myself to play devilâs advocate up to a certain point.
Not once during our thirty minute visit were we greeted by a Target employee. This isnât a deal breaker for me as I generally donât like being approached when shopping. However, a simple courteous nod or âgood morningâ in passing goes a long way.
The event that really disappointed me during our visit happened during checkout. Self-checkout was empty, but we had a cart half full of items and we chose to go to one of two cashiers - both who were sitting down and on their phones, furiously texting away. Neither âopen lightâ was on, but registers arenât breakrooms and considering it was early, we assumed the cashiers had forgotten. We were half right. The cashier we chose happened to be the supervisor on duty(seemingly). She very abruptly âeducatedâ is on how to know if a lane is open. When I pointed out that neither lane was lit, she barked at the girl in the next lane to turn on her light. Her rudeness and delivery was condescending both to us and her coworker. At that point, I began loading our goods back into our cart and head to self checkout. She said, âNo, Iâll ring you up, but next time look for the light.â Again, no lights were illuminated. Perhaps as supervisor on duty, YOU should look for the light? She quickly rang us up.
We headed to the Starbucks and placed a quick order while both of the previously mentioned cashiers went back to their phones. At one point they both huddled at the same register, ignorant of the people in self checkout directly across from them that might need their assistance - or the refrigerated drink impulse coolers that were near empty - or the traffic jam of carts by the exit door that couldâve been quickly lined up.
Kudos to the Starbucks staff. They were polite, friendly, accommodating, and genuine. When they didnât have all the ingredients for our drink, they were apologetic and happy to make the order differently.
I do not enjoy writing bad reviews, especially for businesses I love, but the lack of professionalism and attention at this location was unacceptable. I sincerely hope it was an isolated incident, but have a bad feeling it was not.
Still love Target! Just wonât be shopping at the Woodland...
Read moreThis review if for the Starbucks and Cafe in the Target store within the Woodland Hills mall. The cafe is to put it in a nice way "WORTHLESS!". The moment I entered the cafe I could see the look in the cashiers eyes. That she did not like working there and wanted to leave! I asked for a pizza. And she told me they have no pizzas, fries or popcorn! I asked her why she looked so down in the dumps? She said that she just put in her two week notice. Management sucks at that cafe. They don't listen to people who work there on their product needs. And so often there are no items that can't sell like the pizzas. Management it seems is what keeps this cafe from scoring any high scores. I would fire who is in charge. And put someone that knows what to do with a dreaded cafe like this! There is money lost in this cafe! I won't be coming here anymore. I have sat at other Target Starbucks and Cafe's and enjoyed my times there. But this cafe is simply worthless! The Starbucks is just fair. They were closed at 2:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. They opened once someone showed up....but the lights were off even after the employee arrived. Stay away from the fiasco Target Cafe! UPDATE: 9/30/2018 12;43 pm. I came two weeks later from my last review. I saw 1 employee on Sunday at Starbucks. And I saw 1 employee behind the cafe counter in Target. The Starbucks employee did have customers and was busy. However, the tables at Starbucks were filthy. I cleaned the one I sat at with a wet paper towel. But the grime was so encrusted on the table. I had to repeat the wet tissue 4 times to finally get rid of the grime! Now at the cafe was a severely overweight teen who was just leaning over the counter talking to a friend of hers for a good long time. There are 4 table in that cafe, and even while she talked. She never made a effort to clean the tables! All she did once her friend left was pace back and forth very slowly. Or she stayed out of view around the corner that leads into the Starbucks section. Or she layed her head on the counter supporting her weight. Very unprofessional. Seriously lazy people here at this location. And today there is no Icee drinks available because they are out of flavors! This has to e one of the under performing...
Read moreI go in for a pomade for my boyfriend and there's only one on the shelf. Unfortunately someone decided to test it without buying it. So I walk around to locate an employee and I ask her if she could check if there were more in stock, maybe in the back somewhere. She informs me that there are 11, perfect, so I ask her if I may please get 2. Thinking she was going to check in the back. She asks if there were anymore in the home location, in my mind I'm confused Why would I be asking if there are more. So she walks over to the aisle, to wrong the bay and just stares at the price tag confused and just says "how strange". I inform her it's actually the last bay in the aisle. We walk over -.- she just continues to stare at the home location saying "that's weird it says there's 11 on the floor". Clearly its not on the shelf and instead going to check in the back or at least find someone with a less confused face. she just continues to stare at the shelf like they'll magically appear.-. Am the shelf like they'll magically appear.-. Am I wrong or if it says on the floor and it's not in the home wouldn't be in the back ? Normally I have great experiences without issue but I really needed one and instead of offering maybe a small markdown for the inconvenience she asks if it wasn't to urgent she could check a different location. It was urgent which is why...
