Red Polish Nail Salons — Local services in Los Angeles

While I have been a loyally paying customer at Red Polish Nails for about four years, they have begun to lack immensely in the customer service department. The owner(s) are very short with me, very dismissive and all around rude. My most recent visit to Red Polish Nail resulted in the gel manicure beginning to chip within only TWO days of service. I contacted the salon where the husband (he’s never introduced himself properly therefore I am unaware of his name, yet he owns the salon with his wife) rebooked me for an appointment to have the current nail polish removed for clearly it isn’t of good quality. Only for me to be met by Monica (the lady who initially did my nails) with a drill to redo only the nails that had chipped! I explained to her that it will happen again for it is the NAIL POLISH itself. She ignored my input stating she had an appointment so this was all she could do. Yet I was scheduled as an appointment and never treated as such. Completely unprofessional and again, DISMISSIVE. Let’s just say I walked out of that salon this past Saturday livid! Today is Monday 5/15/23 and they have already began to chip again. Go figure. I called the salon yesterday (when I noticed the chipping) and absolutely no answer. Of course I did not attempt to contact them after business hours so there were most certainly individuals present, they just couldn’t care enough to answer MY calls for they do have caller ID. I called about eleven times finally just leaving a message. A message I’m sure they will never actually respond to because clearly my hard earn money is chump change to them. I am incredibly disappointed in this business!! Word to the wise, you may want to go back to treating ALL, (yes even the BLACK customers) of your customers with the same respect, curiosity, and service!! I have been going to this shop since March 2020 right before the pandemic hit and it’s my favorite place to get my nails done!!!! Being born and raised in LA I’ve been to a lot of places, and none compare to this place. Everywhere else I’ve gone my gel nails last about 2 weeks, but since I started coming here my nails last about 1 1/2 to 2 months depending on my activity and usage of my nails. The staff is super sweet, and they have recently begun to offer complementary drinks which I think is super sweet! I get my nails done with Zoey, Menorie, and Anu and I love them so much! I recently graduated college and the owner zoey was super sweet and bought me a little cupcake with a candle as a congratulation! My mother and grandma other also come to get there nail done here. My grandmother is obviously older and really sensitive about who works on her feet; she has grown to only trust Anu to work on her feet because of how well she takes care of her. Every single time I get my nails done I’m always completed on how pretty the designs/art are. This isn’t a place to come quick to get your nails done, they do take a while but it’s because they take their time on what they are doing. And personally I’d rather have someone take a while and do my nails correctly than rush through it and it falling off two weeks after. They do work on an appointment basis, you can do walk it but it might take you longer to be seen and it’s not always guaranteed to be seen which is why it’s better to schedule an appointment. Whenever I come I always scheduled an appointment a month in advance, in the event I can’t make it i can always communicate to the shop about rescheduling....

Would not recommend this nail salon ever again. They charge way too much!!! 😡 Only for French tip is $15 extra! Other nail salons don’t charge extra at all for French tip including if you want matte nails! The pricing stays the same for example $45 or $46 in total for gel nails including French tip or matte like certain nail salons around Los Angeles area. I thought the gel mani with design included French tip as French tip is a type of design. The pricing here is just crazy and I went with a very sweet friend of mine as she wanted longer nails and the worker responded rude with “I’m not going to deal with that” rather than being polite and asking another worker if they can do the longer nails for her. This is unacceptable and this worker should get fired! My mom came along as well and the person that was doing her nails made her bleed from the edge of one of her nails making a piece of her skin come off! I am very upset at this location and it was my first time coming here! 😤😠 I agree I did not make an appointment for longer nails (extension), but my mom also did want extension and the lady that attended her was willing to do them for her until we heard it is $99 for extension which the pricing is insane! By the way, it was not hard to communicate due to language barrier because one of my friends did have a person that attended her speak Spanish so you do have a person working with you that is Spanish speaking and plus since I came along with other guests, 4 of us spoke English and Spanish fluently so we could have helped with translation.
