I do not recommend Reform to anyone based on my experience with them.
I have been wanting to have Reform cabinets for my kitchen, and when I finally decided to renovate, I contacted Reform and was assigned to one of their designers. I had a pretty clear vision of my kitchen design; however, every time I brought up my own preferences or opinions, they were discouraged or even blocked by the designer because they weren't considered very 'aesthetic.' I found myself struggling and feeling stressed trying to convey what I wanted. After some back and forth with the designer, I reached out to Reform via email about my struggles and asked if they could change the designer without hurting anyone's feelings.
About an hour after sending that email, I received a reply from the same designer, expressing how much they enjoyed working with me and their desire to continue finishing up the design. I was surprised that the email was delivered to them, and it was very uncomfortable and unclear to me how this happened. However, the good thing was that Reform connected me to one of their directors, who went over the incident and ended up taking over my design. The designs were finalized, and I placed an order.
Reform informed me that production would begin, and the cabinets would be shipped in early October, arriving at my place within 5-7 weeks. However, they were later than expected; I received the cabinets on December 15th. I was already frustrated because I had a short period of time left until the holidays, and due to Reform's inability to provide an exact delivery date until the last minute (received a confirmation a day before the actual delivery) I couldn't book installation services in advance. Fortunately, the local installation team was accommodating enough to fit me in before the holiday.
During installation, we discovered that one of the cabinet backs was cut with the wrong holes. When I contacted Reform about it, they agreed to send me a new one. However, since I had only three days for installation and couldn't afford to delay the project, I had no choice but refund. When I asked about compensation, they offered to refund 50% of the cabinet price, which amounted to $92.50. Now I am left with a cabinet with no back.
But the issues didn't end there. The countertop I ordered for my island was too short, and despite being minimal, it was still noticeable. I contacted Reform once again. Additionally, the countertop and the island cabinet's side panels, although made of the same material and color according to Reform's website, had noticeable differences. Reform explained that the finish was different due to the countertop needing to be more durable. They offered to send me a new one and said it would take another 17-18 weeks. when I expressed my frustration with the long wait time, they offered air shipping to expedite the process and eliminate 5 weeks.
Furthermore, it took Reform a month and a half to issue me a refund checks and I had to follow up with them. Today, I received the check, but the check was missing the sales tax amount I paid when I ordered the cabinets. I am still waiting for their response, but I am disappointed by their irresponsible customer service which does not meet expensive price tag of their products.
Overall, I do not recommend Reform to anyone. I sincerely hope that no one else has to go through this horrific experience. It wasn't just a couple of thousand dollars I spent; it was supposed to be an investment. Despite their high cost, I regret falling for their marketing based solely on showroom photos or previous customer experiences on Instagram. I have no plan to hire them for any of my other...
Read moreWe did an extensive remodel on our home and used REFORM for our kitchen, laundry, butler's pantry, bonus rooms and closets (closets not yet installed at the writing of this review). We had issues with almost every single trade/ vendor -- shipping delays, damaged items, terrible quality, etc., but REFORM was the total opposite.
DESIGNER. Our designer is Claire, and she worked with us diligently on our wants + space limitations and delivered the best possible and most practical design based off that. She’s not only experienced and very good on the design portion, but she’s thorough and detail-oriented. This is crucial and avoids issues down the road — and this component is missing in most of the other trades/ companies/ people we dealt with. She’s always prompt in her responses and willing to go the extra mile (even while she was out of the country and had to work with us on a different time zone) to get us to the end. We had many changes/ tweaks/ questions and are not the easiest clients, but never once did I get the feeling that she was bothered. We also had to work sometimes with our little kids screaming in the background -- not an ideal working situation at all -- but she was always so patient and accommodating.
SHIPPING. No issues. Also, unlike other companies who would only ship once everything was at their warehouse (causing a lot of delays if one item was delayed), REFORM arranged several domestic shipments whenever we were ready to accept, which makes all the difference. The logistics team members are also helpful and prompt with communication.
AFTER SALES. I work with Susanne (install questions, replacing a few panels, etc) and she is always helpful, friendly and a true pleasure to deal with. What little minor issues we had were always resolved expediently. Even Claire still makes herself available now to answer any questions that come up. Most companies don’t want to talk to you after they make the sale, but not this REFORM team.
PRODUCT. You can’t go wrong with Danish design! And REFORM delivered. Everything is exactly how it’s advertised online and in the showroom. The products are stunning and the highlight of our house. This isn’t our forever home, and they’ll easily be the hardest part to say goodbye to when we eventually sell. Has there ever been a “bring your own kitchen” house listing? With my REFORM kitchen, it’s tempting!
Of the many vendors and manufacturers we dealt with, I would only recommend 3 — and REFORM is hands-down the top of that list. Kudos to the company for doing it right from top to bottom (products, team members, logistics) and thank you for being the sliver of pleasure, quality + professionalism in what has otherwise been a nightmare...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this company, the people working there, and the craftsmanship of the products. I am a first time home owner with a passion for design. I was struggling to find exactly what I wanted for my walk in closet, kitchen, and storage space. Until I found reform. The product is so functional and the staff makes the ordering/ design so seamless. I worked with Claire Xu, and she has been an absolute gem to work with. She helped me each step of the way, updated on delivery/ lead times and even recommended someone to install. 10/10 experience. Can’t wait to design my dream kitchen next with her. My house finally feels like home. Delivery can take a while, due to shipping/ customs, but WELL WORTH IT! Would do it over if asked and I would recommend Reform, specially DTLA staff to all my friends. I’ve attached a photo of my freshly installed walk in closet. Beyond...
