I usually don’t write reviews but I felt compelled to after my experience today. This is not a knock on the company or the store for I’m sure they have plenty of great options for mattresses. However my experience was nothing like what I thought it would be. As soon as I told my budget, the salesman steered me towards some of the worst mattresses I’ve seen or ever laid on. His reasoning, the average full sized mattress is priced at over 1000 dollars. I found this to be extremely wrong because every store I have ever been in or any mattress I found online had full mattresses at ranges between 200-600 dollars from very reputable and trusted mattress brands like Sealy.

When I got on the mattress the salesman tried to get me off as soon as I laid on. Every other mattress store I’ve been in has given me at least 5-10 minutes to really get a feel for the mattress. His reasoning, “you’ll know what it feels like as soon as you lay down” which from my experience buying a mattress in the past is 100% incorrect. The whole experience felt rushed like I was just a price tag. When I told him I would think about it and come back if the mattress worked, he instantly left me alone, no “thanks for coming in!” No “glad to help” nothing… as soon as I said I was not going to buy a mattress right there on the spot it would be as if I was not even in the room.

I then went to another mattress place and the experience was way better! The salesman was patient, answered all my questions, and I was able to find a mattress that was far better than the one I laid down on in the store for less than 400 dollars… way below what this salesman said the average was.

The mattress-buying experience can be stressful, because it's a big commitment and cost. But Robin at Sit 'n Sleep went above and beyond to make the process smooth and easy for us, and I never felt like he was aggressively trying to steer us toward the items out of our budget. He focused on what was important to us, and he was very knowledgeable about the whole process, helping to steer us in the directions that worked best for our needs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the experience when we first went in. When you first enter, it can feel overwhelming seeing all the different types of mattresses, but they have a really handy tool that you lie down on, and it scans your body to find out the proper firmness for your body type or makes suggestions for a compromise if you and your partner require something different -- which immediately rules out 90% of the mattresses in the store, making it all feel manageable.

At first, we were just looking to test the waters and try out some mattresses for ourselves. I was upfront with Robin that we weren't planning to purchase that day and so I didn't want to waste his time, but he still spent over an hour with us taking us through our options.

The whole experience was so positive that it actually convinced us to make our purchase with Sit 'n Sleep. So when we returned another day, we made sure that Robin was there to finish the deal, since he worked so hard with us on that first day to make sure our experience was smooth and pleasant.

If we have any other bedding needs in the near future, we'll definitely be seeking out Robin at...

Mike schooled us into the process of manufacturing a great quality mattress, helping us understand that the key thing when it comes to a great night sleep is body support. Something that is impossible to achieve with the cheap mattresses that get shipped to your home in a box. Lower price is always tempting, but lack of knowledge my lead into ending up spending more money than buying the correct mattress the first time around.
