Since I got a gift certificate, I decided to try the basic scrub first before going all out. I told the receptionist that it was my first time visit to Spa LA. So she gave me a tour.
I did my shower, soakings, then got my scrubs, finally the clay room, Himalayan room, and other rooms. So first visit was a success. I felt relaxed.
Now, onto the second visit (about a month or two later). Since I still have $135 left in my gift certificate, I decided I wasn't to try the Precious Pearl and ready to cough up the additional money for this treatment.
Got there an hour before my appointment time, checked in with the receptionist. I told her I still have balance on my gift certificate from my last visit. She asked me to show her the gift certificate (I showed her the email), then she asked me the type of treatment that I did during my last treatment, which I showed her the appointment confirmation email.
She was talking out loud when she was doing all these checking and all that, so I wasn't really paying attention to her since she wasn't looking at me while she was checking things, until she said, "ok, here's your key" and looked at me. I asked her if I should pay the difference now. She then told me I can pay after I'm done.
I went downstairs, went to the locker, showered, soaked, and finally the lady called me for my scrubs. During the treatment, I smelled Lavender but I thought the lady was using whatever ingredients/material available before using the real deal. Once she told me I was finished, I was confused. I didn't say anything because: 1) I'm not familiar with their treatments but I smell like Lavender. At this moment, I wasn't sure what's going on. 2) I'm an introvert, so going to a spa and being naked is already took a lot of energy. 3) I don't like confrontation and don't like being in a situation where I have to complain about things. 4) The Korean lady that scrubbed me seems to have limited English, so I got discouraged to ask her.
So I went to the other rooms (clay, Himalayan, etc). Once I finished, I went upstairs to exit. I stopped by at the receptionist to pay for what I owed. Before paying, I told told her, "I don't think I got the Pearl treatment today". She then checked something and she said I got the Lavender treatment. I was shocked. I showed her my email (the appointment confirmation) and the text message that I received to remind me of the appointment, it says on the text message that I have an appointment for the Pearl treatment.
I didn't want to create a scene at the place, so I just paid for what I got and left. I waa so upset, because: 1) I had use the remainder of the gift certificate to pay for something that I didn't asked for. 2) I don't like lavender, ironic. 3) I drove an hour (1 way) just to go to this place and had to drive back for another hour...
Read more$150 for scrub and massage with lavender oil - walked out of massage after five minutes. The only reason this place has all these reviews: they are doing what is completely unethical! They ask people to write good reviews and enter a competition to win $100. I have been going to Korean spas for over 25 years. I have been to all of them in LA Koreatown and Torrance and the Valley. This place is the worst. I have never written a negative review for Korean spas. Here is one. The Massage: Walked out after 5 minutes of massage - absolutely nothing resembling a massage - no kneading , no pressure or holding. She just splatter some cheap oil and kept rubbing. Lavender has a strong scent. There was not even a trace of that smell in that oil - complete rip-off The Scrub: I can do rough scrubs . I've been doing them for over 25 years This scrub mitt was horrible it just felt like it was just tearing my skin, which it did . She was so inconsistence, she kept scrubbing the back of my hand till the skin was getting cut. I had to ask her to stop. Also, the room was freezing,as my bed was right along the path of an open door draft . I kept asking for towel or warm water. She just ignored and finally went and closed the door. By that time, I was freezing . Steam Room was not working: When the steam room, which is an essential part of the spa experience, is not working, a legitimate business informs the client. or have a clear sign indicating that, before the client pays and the client can make a choice. Also, there was no cold plung- essential part of Korean Spa experience! Cleaning Maintenance: There was not even one person who was doing any cleaning. Hygiene: There were multiple signs and a big poster of etiquette rules for no kind of clothing. Even a swimsuit is not allowed in the tubs. There was a young girl fully clothed in the tubs, and nobody was around to enforce the rule, and it was kind of gross. Products : There are signs saying all their products are organic blah, blah . But we had no idea what brand they were, unlike other spas thar clearly indicate...

I recently had a terrible experience at Spa LA that I feel compelled to share. From start to finish, the visit was marked by a series of frustrating issues.
Upon checking in, we were informed that the steam sauna was out of order, which was inconvenient but not unexpected. However, things quickly went downhill from there. One of the jacuzzis malfunctioned, creating a geyser of water that sprayed everywhere and made a mess. To add to the frustration, the bubbles in both jacuzzis then stopped working, rendering them useless.
The situation was further exacerbated by an ongoing issue with the fire alarm. Although the alarm had been triggered before we arrived and there was no siren blaring, the flashing lights persisted constantly over the entire course of our 1+ hour experience. This relentless distraction made it impossible to relax or enjoy any of the amenities.
The lack of professionalism extended to the massage services as well. My friend had booked a 75-minute massage, but the session ended after just 60 minutes. When we brought this to the attention of the management, they offered a paltry $10 discount on our next visitâan insultingly inadequate response given the series of problems we faced.
Spa LA failed on every frontâservice, facilities, and customer care. The entire experience was marred by inefficiency and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. If you value your time and money, avoid Spa LA at all costs. They clearly donât prioritize providing a relaxing or...
