I walked in, the people behind the counter looked busy packing herbal teas. One man directed me to the back to see the Chinese medicine doctor and told me I had to use Google translate because the doctor doesn't speak English. I went to the back and sat down and said hello. Tbh it felt awkward but i was excited because it was my 1st time there and I was really interested in what the doctor was going to tell me about my health. The doctor doesn't say hello or ask me any questions with his Google translate. He hands a paper to write my name, age and sex. Then he points to my wrist and I give him my wrist, he takes my pulse and points to my mouth so I showed him my tongue (I only knew what to do because I seen someone elses experience on social media. Otherwise I would be lost). The whole time he kept a straight face and tbh had a vibe that he was annoyed. I typed out a little of what I was dealing with but he looked at it and then motioned with his hand for me to move my phone away when he was done reading and just nodded but didn't say anything in response. Then he typed his diagnosis which said, word for word "poor blood circulation, anxiety and some other discomforts"...I was curious what the other discomforts were but didn't wanna ask because he already seemed very unapproachable or stand off-ish. So I just asked what the treatment would be and he just wrote the ingredients for my herbal tea in Chinese, wrote $20 at the top and pointed at it and stared at me. That's all I really got from the man.
I went upfront to wait for my tea and watched a short video on their tablet on how to make my tea. I looked around while I waited and asked a few questions. The man at the front was polite. After 15 minutes I was given my packaged herbs and I said thank you and went on my way.
Overall, it was an ok experience. I think the attitude of the doctor kind of ruined my experience but hopefully the tea does...
Read moreRude, offensive, profiling, liars. Bad service. They did not have what I was looking for and offered something absolutely different that I did not buy and they did not embarrass to describe to me. Then, I asked if there was maybe an other pharmacy around and he replied to me « no there is not ». Which is false, and misleading… I wouldnt trust them on anything frankly. Do not go there unless you enjoy all the above… very unfortunate this attitude.. EDIT AFTER OWNER REPLY: -I have ZERO followers on Google, see by yourself…. what are you even talking about? But I said, I will expose this attitude on Google maps. -If you say « there is no other pharmacy around » to someone in your business you could not satisfy as a potential customer, you are a liar. Period. And if I asked, which you seem to be confused with, is just because I don’t know the neighborhood well, and I assumed you knew it better than me…. Maybe? -The attitude of the clerk who replied to me was very agressive and I was very surprised on why he even had this attitude toward me who been polite. I was just lost in the neighborhood. I then searched on my phone because I was very surprised to learn there was no other « Asian pharmacy » around. As an important note here, I have a condition very dangerous for my health and I’m not a tourist trying to buy souvenirs and ridiculous goods. And I needed this medicine before a work trip in Europe for 1 week (I tried to mentioned it to the clerk who did not even listen to me). To the clerk and who ever works there, try to be a bit more thoughtful, and don’t profile people on their look. I would say that there is a possible language barrer at play here, but kindness, and offering a little bit of your time is the base of good service. And you just do not have any of that, just rude attitude. And as I said above already, it is VERY unfortunate. Good luck in...
Read moreThis place is so fantastic! I've done chinese medicine before so to find a place that prepared the herbs in front of you is amazing! Each tea is individually crafted and designed after seeing the doctor. Each person gets 5 bags (each bag is for 2 days for a total of 10 days). It took a total of about 3 hours to be seen and then pick up our bags (we went to eat and run errands meanwhile).
As someone who has done chinese medicine before, it absolutely helps but it really helps you when also making lifestyle/dietary changes. There is no magic pill even in chinese medicine which I saw some people were expecting while we were in line. People may also have to go back to get a refill or get an adjustment to their original tea. Also, if they tell you to take something, just do what they prescribe. While we were there, there was a lady who was prescribed to eat one black garlic a day, and she was saying she didn't want to take it. They are there to help, but if you aren't willing to take the help then why waste their time and yours.
They are an old school business which I actually appreciate. They don't have a website and they are always busy if you try to call. If you want to be seen as soon as possible, go right when they open.
I had a great experience! Will definitely be back for a...
