ordered cha siu (pork) wonton soup, nothing for this one said seafood, or showed seafood. I can't have shrimp. Had nothing on the menu said "seafood" I would've assumed it's all seafood since some other plates clearly show shrimp. But some stuff clarified seafood, other stuff didn't. What I ordered didn't.
Got home (around the corner) to find not only did I get a bowl of shrimp and fishballs, but there was no wonton in my wonton soup. I clearly got the wrong order and walked right back to explain. They tried convincing me I got the right order (ok then where are the wontons?) and everything has shrimp. Shrimp or not they messed up my order and tried to argue me on it.
they then went to make the one thing they have with no shrimp and tried to tell me I was paying full price for that thing too. Firmly said no if you're going to charge me double I'm just not going to get anything. That was really sketchy.
I know it's Chinatown but if shellfish is up there with peanuts as a serious and common allergy, and if you clarify for some things there's seafood, you can't just not clarify for other things that have...
Read moreThis place has a super legit banh cuon to go. It was like $9.85 total but well worth it. They give you a lot and it's quality fresh ingredients along with great taste. Their nuoc mam was a little diluted and needed more fish sauce and garlic chili. Chopped cucumbers were very fresh so was their basil. The bean sprouts were very fresh as well, not one bad piece! The to go container was just perfect, round and super eater friendly not like those square styrofoam ones with 2 small sections and one main bigger section. I hate those because you can't mix the veggies into the main dish easily. Actually annoying. I would definitely come back and their other dishes. Parking was a pain but if you just park across the street on Hill street, there's plenty of open parking rather than trying to park on broadway. The shopping center is open all the way through from Broadway to Hill. Park on Hill St. I went and has their banh mi dac biet today and it was a 4 star sandwich. For $5.00 it's pretty decent. The amount of meat is good, the flavor is good. It's better than My Dung Sandwiches down the street for sure. Check...
Read moreWe’ve heard great things about this place and being from Houston it is hard to satisfy our Vietnamese cravings. Thien huong did. We got bang xeo, bun bo hue, bun cuon, and cha gio (eggrolls). To drink we had iced viet coffee and a thai tea. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bun bo hue had great flavor, perfect tangy lemongrass broth. The banh xeo was crispy, LARGE, and served with pickled carrots and lettuce. The bun cuon was delicate and filled with crispy minced pork. Everything hit the spot. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. It is in a strip mall so not the best atmosphere, we did have a homeless man come in, but the staff was on top of it making sure noone would be bothered while also offering him help. She did her best, offered him a drink and even gave him money. I think that really shows professionalism and humanity. We’ll be back to order the other half of the menu. Don’t...
