Experience was not what I thought it’d be. I went for some colored contacts and their selection was not wide and was pricey but I’ll let it slide on the price, it may not be a big chain. I stood and waited patiently at the counter and the white (and you’ll see why I mentioned that here soon) lady with black hair saw a white couple before me that came AFTER ME and helped them. Then had to leave to help out a coworker (not mad at that.)
She then came back and asked me and ANOTHER white couple which one of us was first even though I had been standing front and center at the counter for some time and she saw me and told me she’d be back. I let that slide but still had to say I was next TWICE and she still proceeded to help them first. She handed them their contacts but when it was my turn and I picked out mine, she handed them over to the cashier. NOT COOL. Who wants to be racially discriminated against?
My card was locked so I had to come back a few minutes after initially trying to make the purchase and the one thing that redeemed some of this trip is the young gentleman who rung me up and struck up great conversation after I was able to come back and make...
Read moreThe employees have always been the best! It's never about the biggest sale prices, but helpful to what you want to do, and create! I came in today, because Halloween is the best time to buy, and find what you need. I wasn't shopping for Halloween. I was piecing together something for a Convention next year. The selection is huge! And the employees are all that's gracious, and wonderful! I already had some parts of what I am going to create, and was helped further here, to get the rest, except for the white-out Sclera contacts I needed. And the Gentleman Employee who was my helper, told me about the KY laws about contacts, and when I said I'd bought online before, he went further, and said that online purchases, the water they come in might cause infections. And I said I already knew, but how wonderful is that? To be warned about something they don't sell???? I will ALWAYS...
Read moreThis is a great novelty, magic, and costume store all year long. Though many will agree, when the spook-bug bites, and you are in the mood for Halloween, this place is a must.
Based on square footage, I don't believe this is the largest novelty store in town. With that said, I still feel the amount of merchandise inside is so heavily concentrated and packed in that the variety and selection outweighs the competition.
There are several rooms pinned together in the old warehouse of a building. Each room tends to specialize in one area such as props, costumes, novelty lights, magician supplies, masks, etc.; though, some merchandise categories bleeds into other rooms.
A visit to Caufield's is always entertaining, especially during the Halloween season. Not only do I usually find what I need here, but I feel like I've gone out and done something... like visited a...
