We had an amazing experience with Travel the Trail! I brought a group of 5 for two days, none of whom had ever been to the bourbon trail or Louisville in general. All of us agreed that our tour guide was well worth the price paid – and they were cheaper than some of the other options around the area. We paid about $270 per person per day for the tour guide. This price included the tour guide and ride, about 3 distillery tours/tastings per day, a full sit-down lunch, and snacks/waters during the drives. I figure the price may vary depending on which tours you select, as some cost more than others.

Here are some of the things that really stood out to me that made it way more than just a paid designated driver. Our guide took us to some incredible lunch spots, some of the best food we had during our trip to Louisville was during our lunch stops – plus he gave us excellent dinner recommendations in downtown Louisville. Our guide took us on several “scenic routes” on the way to our destinations – since we could only tour about 6 distilleries in 2 days, he drove by some places that we weren’t touring just to show us the location and talk about their history and bourbon. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about each distillery and what they had to offer – he gave great recommendations at many of our stops alerting us to anything new or worth trying, even if it wasn’t on the tasting flight. And it actually turned out that some distillery tours were a little lacking, so when we got back to the van, our Travel the Trial guide was able to fill in a lot of gaps and answer a lot of our questions that even the distillery’s guide couldn’t. Our guide was incredibly personable and just a joy to be around – he clicked with our group immediately and there was never a dull moment during the two days we had him with us. Our guide knew all the good bars and hangouts along the downtown areas for us to check out after-hours – we had a blast in the evenings due to his recommendations. And lastly, the planning was 100% taken care of by Travel the Trail folks – we just sent them our top distilleries that we wanted to visit and they made it all happen for us. We gave them about 3 months of lead-time so we had no issues getting to all of our top choices. All we had to do was book a hotel and show up.

Definitely a 5-star Bourbon Trail Tour Group here. I would recommend them to anyone. To be honest, we may come back some day to tour other distilleries and I hope to use them...

A First-Class Bourbon Experience Every Time! I've had the pleasure of working with Travel the Trail Kentucky Bourbon Tours three times now, and each experience has been nothing short of exceptional.

From the very beginning, Jennifer made the planning process incredibly smooth. She's not only responsive and organized, but also truly thoughtful in crafting a custom itinerary that fit our group perfectly. She makes planning a breeze, and it’s clear she really cares about giving you a great experience.

The van was extremely comfortable—spacious, clean, and ideal for relaxing between stops. Our group traveled in style and comfort the entire day.

A special shoutout to our guide Bob, who was an absolute gem. Friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging, he really enhanced the experience with great insights and a relaxed vibe that made the day even more enjoyable. And while we're at it, I want to give a big thanks to Rob, our guide on previous trips, who also delivered exceptional service. These guys know bourbon, the area, and how to make you feel like a VIP every step of the way.

Travel the Trail has become my go-to for bourbon country tours, and I’ll definitely be working with them again. Can’t recommend them...

I never leave reviews but I found this company by reading reviews and chose them because of it and I felt compelled to share our excellent tour as well. From the moment I contacted them, Lee was “Johnny on the spot”. He was helpful, responsive, knowledgeable and flexible as our group size changed a few times. We had a group of 18 across two days and could not have had a more fun experience. It was a mixed group of men and women and he designed the perfect experiences for both. From the horse farm to the distilleries, we did it all. Sampled the best bourbons, saw the most beautiful scenery and ate well. It was the most memorable 40th birthday experience and we were so grateful to have found travel the trail. Thanks to Lee and the whole team! You all...

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail has been on my bucket list for a long time and Travel the Trail made the experience nothing short of amazing. I live in Los Angeles, and had no clue as to how one about goes about whiskey tasting at 100+ year old distilleries that are located, 20 miles apart. Travel the Trail Handled it all: they created a custom, full day, tour for our group based on the types of Bourbons we liked , distance between distilleries, best place for lunch and timing. Our Rockstar guide, Bobby, was a Kentucky local and was a wealth of interesting knowledge about the history of the area and the distilleries. Highly recommended for a first class, completely custom, Bourbon Trail adventure.
