I had the distinct honor of attending three of the five productions from the 2012-2013 season at Bunbury. First and foremost, the location of the theatre is tucked away in the gorgeous Henry Clay building in downtown Louisville. You enter the grand foyer and make your way to the antique elevators with butterflies in your stomach. You just cannot wait for your experience at Bunbury to begin.
That incredible feeling continues as the Bunbury staff and volunteers greet you. It is an immediate intimate and personal setting. Everyone is excited and thrilled to have you and each volunteer ensures your utmost comfort and satisfaction with the entire experience, from box office to refreshments to guiding you to your seat.
The theatre is small. It is the perfect setting for an intimate theatre experience. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Of the three productions I saw, I was immediately engaged and intrigued by the cast, the set, the ambiance, and my fellow audience members. It is an all-around positive and uplifting experience in the creative arts.
I make a point to visit the Bunbury Theatre EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit Louisville and I cannot wait to see what the 2013-2014 season has in store. If you live in Louisville and look for one-of-a-kind, diverse, engaging live theatre, take a moment to visit Bunbury. You must consider a subscription for the year (you can even pick your seats for the season and they will always be there for you). If you are visiting the city for work or for pleasure, consider a show at Bunbury. It will give you the greatest example of creative and performance arts that the thriving Louisville community has to offer you.

Read moreThe theater is located on the 3rd floor of the Henry Clay building. I have been to this theater a couple of times in the past and have been impressed with each show. This one was no exception, and quite possibly the best show to date (A Chanukah Christmas). It is a wonderful story with something for everyone. I strongly recommend it for those that are Jewish, as well as those who are not. I found the acting to be on par with the best professional theaters in Louisville. The writing and directing are top notch. The staff of volunteers are friendly and accommodating. The theater is small with an intimate setting. There are perhaps 150 to 200 seats, which are comfortable. There is no such thing as a bad seat in this theater. I look forward to...
Read moreFrom an actor's point of view: I am well into my first experience as an actor with Bunbury and thus far it has been very, very positive. My fellow actor (we're preparing a two character play) is a seasoned and skilled professional. Our director is first-rate! The theatre staff have been prepared and supportive. We open in less than two weeks and everything, from set to costumes is coming together nicely, the result of careful and thorough planning. I've been a working professional in the theatre for almost fifty years. Bunbury, though compact and lean, is a fully professional operation…nothing "little theatre" about it! Can't wait to meet our audience in Bunbury's excellent performance space in the historic Henry...
