Hiroshima GETS 5 Stars. The venue gets two. Hopefully Hiroshima will choose a larger venue next time. I would have rather paid "more" money and been seated "on time". We fans didn't understand why someone didn't even bother, at the very least, to come outside where the fans were waiting and just give all the adoring fans, VIP/General some sort of explanation for the well (over) thirty minute wait for the five o'clock concert. Hiroshima IS and will Always be one of my favorite artist from the seventies. I have every tape and album and CD. I truly think that given the fact this was Hiroshimas 1st time in Louisville they should have been at a larger venue that could have accommodate them better and their fans/audience. Just basic respect for the fans/ticket payers would have been appreciated. Some of the fans actually traveled from Ohio and further.... just to enjoy their wonderful music. The small intimate feel of this was loss during the wait and the un-professionalism of the staff. Not to mention the lost revenue from the bar and "tips". I do fondly remember enjoying many of the local bands from the seventies at Breckinridge Inn and feeling safe and welcomed and very appreciated., which is probably why I waited so long to return to come back to the by gone era....this was my first time back at Breckinridge Inn because Hiroshima was there. Hope the eight o'clock was more organized and laid back...as we were rushed. I did , however, get a pic with June and video before my phone died. Although I never made time to visit Rudy Lane for Jerry, I'm glad he still has help from his friends. Last fond memory for this night...yes, I am old...but I "do" know that no matter how old I am "you " will always...
Read moreWas hanging at the bar from 7pm and having a good time speaking with everyone including Jerry Green. Bouncer comes in around midnight to kick me out for no reason (It was open till 3am.) I kept asking for the reason and all he said was "You gotta leave." Called the cops on me and the bouncer said I was kicked out because I didn't pay the entree fee of $8. Nobody asked me when I entered and I had no clue about it. I was at the bar the previous night for a couple of hours and nobody asked me to pay the entree fee that time too. The place was not packed and I would have paid the entree fee had I known about it. Not sure if it was racial profiling but would not recommend for any people other than Americans. Got a video of the event and can share...
Read moreI just saw the news story about the Breckinridge Inn being torn down and replaced by medical buildings. Although we don't live in Louisville anymore my wife Kelley and I have so so many fun and fond memories of Jerry Green's. Our last trip there was after the Derby in 2019... I can still hear Jerry belting out, "Purple Rain!"... Jerry and his band were always terrific and his staff was just as nice. You could look around any night at Jerry Greens and see all kinds of people from 21 to 85 years old all smiling... I hope Jerry and his team are able to relocate somewhere and keep bringing smiles to faces for years to come. We ❤️ Louisville & we ❤️ Jerry Green...
