AMBER 1 Star • 2025-05-12 My experience at element ELLIMENT, a Caribbean restaurant, left me with significant concerns regarding the quality and freshness of the cuisine. I ordered the oxtails, accompanied by white rice and the Caribbean Island vegetable medley, which on this occasion consisted primarily of soggy cabbage. Unfortunately, the oxtails lacked any discernible flavor profile. Their appearance suggested they were not freshly prepared, further diminishing the overall appeal of the dish. Similarly, the cabbage in the vegetable medley did not exhibit the freshness one would expect. The white rice, a staple accompaniment, was served lukewarm. Considering the total cost of approximately $26, the meal proved to be a considerable disappointment. The absence of authentic Caribbean flavors in the oxtails and the evident lack of freshness in the side dishes did not align with the expectation set by the restaurant's cuisine type and price point. Overall, this experience did not meet the standards of a satisfactory dining occasion. Significant improvements in food quality and freshness are necessary to provide a more positive and representative Caribbean...

I went into Elliment yesterday afternoon. There were two people sitting, once of which I assumed was the owner. Not once did she say hi, hello, welcome, etc. it was as if I hadn’t walked in at all! The lack of customer service extended to the counter where I stood for 6-8 mins (along with my grandmother) without anyone taking our order. The woman at the counter did not extend any sort of customer service, and to make matters worse, she was sniffling/ coughing/rubbing her nose all while packing an order. Not once did she wash her hands after rubbing her nose. I was disgusted but also thankful for what I witnessed before ordering anything.
Perhaps I could deal with the lack of customer service but the lack of hygiene while packing someone’s food is a huge concern.
I’m writing this review with the hopes that the owner becomes aware and makes changes for the future of her business. I want this restaurant to succeed but my experience was eye opening...
Read moreNo matter what! you have to have good customer service. I didn't even know this place existed until I was walking pass and a guy was going in I asked him about it he raved I asked if it was black owned he said yes so I went in. I guess the light chunky lady is the owner. She never one time said welcome , I be with you in a minute, let me know when your ready to order. I'm all for supporting my community however some of them don't make you feel welcome when you come into their establishment. I stood looking at menu for about 7 minutes waited 3 more to see if she say something instead of looking pass me . It never happened so I left. This is a place where the men will have the upmost hospitality and a woman will get a death stare. Idky it's like this when it comes to majority black women business owners , it's like they always have a attitude or look uninviting. The bias vibe is real in here. I refuse to spend my money in a place that doesn't have good customer service . I won't be back ever. I will not recommend this place...
