Have been eating there for over 30 years, since I was a kid. Food has always been top notch. Simply the best Chinese food in Louisville, tied with max orient in the mall. Far better than PF Chang's. But I do have a complaint. All those years and I never got a single bad egg roll. But for the last 3 1/2 years. Every single egg roll has been very very bad one. Not really understanding why, but it has been 100% of all purchased egg rolls in about 6 or 7 visits, in 3 1/2 years. They are so dry and chewy at the same time. Always overcooked and not never perfectly browned. They used to be full of juice in every bite, and perfectly crisp. I would do anything for just one more of that classic chong garden egg roll perfection of the past. All other food, especially the crab Rangoon is always spot on each and every time. I just can't understand, what happened with the egg rolls. I keep holding out hope but it's starting to feel that I may never have that perfect chong garden veggie egg roll again. Which is extremely disheartening to even think about. Please get a new egg roll cook. It just isn't the same when you can't enjoy that perfect egg roll...

My family and I ordered from this place yesterday and got it home and it was disgusting my husband ordered general TSO chicken and lo mein as well as my daughter and I ordered the steamed broccoli and shrimp and white rice. We had the eggrolls and an order of crab Rangoon the crab Rangoon and the eggrolls were delicious but the rest of the food was disgusting. I will never go back to that place again they really need to do something about the food because the food tasted very old. The noodles tasted like they had been sitting there for hours and the chicken tasted like it was old and had been sitting there all day. to me if you’re gonna charge someone that much for food because I paid over $50 then it should be worth eating that place used to be very good but now the last few times me and my family has ate there. It has been garbage you try to help your local businesses and family owned businesses because you want to support those people and they should give that back to the community. That’s trying to support them but their food anymore is pure garbage.I would not recommend...

The only reason they're getting 2 stars instead of one is because they have the best crab rangoons around, but if they mess up on your order they make you feel like it was your fault. They don't own up to anything they do wrong. I ordered two sweet and sour chickens, they put the chicken into the pan while it was scalding hot, and it melted the lid to my chicken. They would not do anything to fix the situation. My other container was worse. I ended up throwing it away, everything was uneditable. My second container wasn't as bad. I was able to salvage most of it.

Now that I told them I was giving them a bad review they won't stop calling my cell phone this is the third call!

It's sad this used to be my 2nd favorite Chinese restaurant out of all the Chinese restaurants I've eaten at and nows it's lucky to make my top 20! The only reason I go there is for the crab Rangoons.

Golden star on Taylor Blvd needs more locations. They are hands...

Got $50 worth of takeout. General Tsos chicken is cold, chewy, doesnt taste like General Tso. Its not spicy, breading is soggy. “Hibachi chicken and shrimp” looks like it came out of the microwave and has some clearish-brown mystery liquid on it. I ordered a Hong Kong roll. Its a tiny piece of tempura shrimp wrapped in about 2” solid of white rice, topped with spicy crab. $15 roll with about $0.50 cents worth of ingredients. The fried rice i had to pay extra for is not done all the way, and tastes nothing like fried rice Ive had anywhere else in my life. This place aint worth the effort it takes to open their door.

Absolutely horrible experience. Let's start of with the generic Wal-Mart drink menu pictured below (no ice) by the way. The amount of food is about half of what you would get at any other Asian take out. My meal literally tasted worse than the Chinese in a can you'd get at the grocery. 4 tables in the restaurant- only one was clean. No public restroom. Junky and dirty. This place is a shadow of what it used to be a few years back. Will not be returning. Would give it zero stars if I could.
