The Lowell Folk Festival — Local services in Lowell

In the year 2022 it was great to be back and experience the wide diversity that makes this festival a place to add to your summer schedule. It was a little smaller, down one stage this year and a couple from way back, but it was still rich in bring out a broad selection of acts. We enjoyed Jazz, Louisiana Brass, Western Swing, Blues bands, Kentucky Folk, traditional Celtic, and loved some rich Soul music that made me feel like I was back in some churches 30 + years ago. Food is as diverse as music and you can travel the world sampling cooking from all over during the course of the weekend. The Lowell Folk Festival is the largest free folk festival in the U.S.A. It is held on a weekend in late July every year and is a great place to explore and enjoy music, crafts and food without breaking your budget. The 2019 festival got lucky with sunny July weather - warm, but not quite as hot as some of the other days this July. There is plenty of parking at city garages at reasonable rates. Do NOT try to park in the large lot behind 305 Dutton Street, as you will probably come back to find your car has been towed...

had a great time at the folk festival it was disappointing chunkys wasn't there this year. it was great weather not too hot as in past years. the food was great many options impossible to not find something you like. the entertainment was great and endless variety just like the food. a wonderful experience and I will be back again for this yearly tradition. also the shaved ice was very good perfect way to cool down and the popcorn also.
