FORK included Gluten-Free Modern Asian — Restaurant in Lowell

We stumbled across this little gem. No sign outside, so it’s easy to miss. We were warmly welcome and offered few options to sit. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered springs rolls and were told it would be a deconstructed version. It was AMAZING. You scoop the delicately spiced and flavored filling with crispy crunchy chips made of the spring roll sheets. Like spring rolls, but better! The Thai tea, the pineapple cherry and the litchi drinks and all were delicious. The Khmer dish was like a more vibrant version of a Thai green curry without the coconut sauce. The popcorn chicken with garlic sauce was incredible, bursting with fresh scallions and fresh peppers. The waffle chicken sandwiches were huge, juicy and spiced perfectly. The spicy numbing chicken was not that spicy if you can handle spices. The chef’s husband was very friendly, passionate and so proud of his wife’s cooking. We talked about lemon grass, galangal, kefir lime, jackfruit, fish sauce… we even got to taste the mango bacon chutney over fried spring roll sheets: hot, sweet and delicious. We were full, so we were not too sad there was no dessert available. Our daughter graduated from UMass Lowell (yeah nurses!!!) but we will be back for this food that blew us away - and we have high expectations. Watch out as they will offer cooking...

UPDATE: July 2025 Adding a couple of pictures taken during the Folk Festival. I miss you guys and your delicious food. UPDATE: March 2025 Eagerly waiting for their new downtown location to open. The University Ave location is closed. Update: November 2024 Update Fall 2024: Fork Included has started monthly Prix Fixe Gluten Free all inclusive meals. We've been to two and enjoyed having an entire meal (Starters to Finishers) where gluten is not an issue.

They have completed the GF-Smart Gluten-free Training Program offered through NCA National Celiac Association and Coeliaque Quebec.

Update: April 2024 We've tried most of the menu & consider Fork Included a family favorite. Yum! The new restaurant decor early this year makes the space as appealing as the food. FORK Included is a gem waiting to be discovered; one dish at a time. Over the last couple weeks we've been sampling their entrees as take out. We are always delighted. My biggest challenge is whether to try something new or repeat a favorite dish. They understand food allergies (gluten free) and other special requests (smaller pieces.) The FORK Included Spicy Pad Thai with Crispy Chicken satisfies our family "chili head". My latest take out adventure is the Spicy Salmon Baked Sushi, it's DELICIOUS! Sorry no photos. I was busy stuffing my face, but I’ll repeat what others have said, “great food and exceptional service!” I ordered Gluten Free items during lunch today. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi(Korean marinated beef) and it was terrific. Good flavor and not too sweet, nice little charred corners throughout the glossy mound of shredded pieces of beef. The side of fragrant jasmine rice had a perfectly cooked fried egg on top, crispy edges and a jammy yolk center. I also ordered Cha Kroeung, a Khmer Stir-fry Curry. I picked chicken. It was plated with fragrant jasmine rice. I have to say it was a flavor explosion type of dish. It’s stir fried with a bunch of diced up vegetables and seasoned with curry paste. It’s not saucy, but it’s very flavorful. I was so happy I chose to try that as my “something new” for the day. I’m excited to have some leftovers for later!

This place will be changing their ENTIRE MENU over to GLUTEN FREE by December 4th 2024. They gave me a newly revised menu to take home with me and I have to say, it ALL looks so amazing. I will definitely be visiting...
