It has been a few years since I last visited The Old Court. The day was nostalgic as I was visiting a friend I hadn’t seen in a few years at a place that was once my FAVORITE pub to have a pint and listen to great music. We had an awesome surprise to see Colm O’Brien entertaining the patrons! He’s a brilliant musician as well as an Irish historian that captivates the audience with stories and songs! I hope to see him booked more often at The Old Court! The interior of The Old Court had a few changes; a mix of modern and of days long ago; a visual bridge linking past to present. The Old Court was packed. The waitress (I’m sorry I’ve forgotten her name) was 5 stars great! She was attentive, friendly, proficient and always smiling as she attended to all the customers! The owner was working just as hard tending to his customers, sorry he didn’t have a minute to say hello; still, I am glad to see his establishment looking great and doing so very well! Food; I would be shocked if anyone had a complaint!! If you want to go out for a nice meal; or for a pint and great music, I highly recommend...
Read moreI arrived at the Old Court on a Wednesday night around 9:00. The front part of the bar was wrapping up a trivia game so there was a woman on a microphone listing movie stars and the movies they were in. I walked through all that to the rear of the club expecting to meet some people I knew that were gathering there for a reunion of sorts. The bar was busy and loud. I found my friends, about a dozen of them sitting and standing near the back door. I went to the bar to get a Guinness. It was a proper temperature, not too cold and it was properly poured. It cost $6 plus tip. I hung out with my buddies for an hour or so. It was not too loud to talk if you could speak loudly enough. But it is a resonant room so it was a little bit of a challenge to converse. The Old Court has been there for decades and it is a place I would not normally go by choice. But honestly it is probably out of habit more than...
Read moreMy husband and I and some friends were in Lowell for the winter fest. We decided to forgo the food trucks and opted for a sit down meal. As we were standing out side the restaurant( trying to decide whether or not we were going to go in) a couple went in before us and said it’s really good. Well, they were right! I had the rebel burger, It was outstanding! The Burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked. the fried Egg really took it over the top! Two other people in the group had burgers and couldn’t stop talking about them as well. One friend had a salad and she said it was crispy and delicious. We also got an order of onion rings for the table, once again, they were outstanding. All in all the food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was on point. We will...
