RUN, RUN FAST AND RUN FAR FROM THIS PLACE... Erinne the property manager and TRACY from Greystar are nothing but LIARS. Erinne was pretty great before Greystar took over the complex, but she became just as big a liar as TRACY and the rest of Greystar. CAUTION... THE PICTURES ONLINE ARE NOT WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU GET HERE..... Mold in the bathrooms because of no ventilation, amenities have been closed for a year, the "heated pool" that states in the ads and in your lease agreement is ice cold. Jacuzzi jets are full of crap so they don't work, the gym Equiptment is dirty and broken, the tanning bed charges money, They lied about permits, they lied about repairs, they just lie about everything. They have had a crappy company repainting the complex and it's the worst thing we have ever seen. They painted all the hand rails and deck rails black....BUILDINGS ARE BROWN AND ORANGE..LOOKS LIKE HALLOWEEN CAME EARLY....That is an amazing lawsuit for anyone on a hot day that wants to get 2nd and 3rd degree burns from the heat retention. THE PROJECT HAS LASTED FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS. DID I MENTION THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING.. The MAINTAINENCE men that I like to call "The IDIOT and BUBBA THE IDIOT..ARE THE MOST WORTHLESS two people I have ever dealt with.. Thermostats are faulty, Caulk is their best friend. If there is a leak in your bathroom, instead of fixing it, they just caulk and try to seal it. Happened three times with my toilet and bath tub.....if you want an upgrade such as oh I don't know a clean rug or working appliances, they tell you that you have to pay for new stuff. They wanted to charge me 1500.00 when I moved in if I wanted new carpets and descent floors.. I didn't think I needed to pay for new carpet and floors, I thought it came with the apartment.. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO RIP YOU OFF..I moved out this month THANK GOD, when I talked to the office and asked what I needed to do or was there a move out list. HOLLY stated that there was not any type of list because the unit was scheduled for a remodel. I was told by Holly to just sweep out and ensure nothing was there...When Erinne came for the walk thru, she started charging me for spot cleans. When I asked why Holly told me something different, she didn't care and still charged me... THEY LIE CONSTANTLY.. I TRULY HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY KISS THEIR CHILDREN WITH THE ALL THE LIES THAT COME OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS.. Greystar refuses to respond, no one has the guts in the corporate office to deal with the issues. TRACY form Greystar was a LIAR but I don't think she has a very important job at Greystar...who knows... I challenge an ADMINISTARTIVE PERSON from Greystar that actually will listen and not LIE to call me and listen to the issues... Chanel 7 stated to call the Atty. Generals office and file a complaint which I did. I also called the renters rights people for the state of Washington...which is funny because they stated they have had numerous complaints about this Apartment Complex. That was the same response I got from the Atty. Generals office as well as the City of Lynnwood when I called about the permits they LIED about... Seems to me that Greystar is a bad mark on the State of Washington...
UPDATE. 9/17/16... The number that they use to contact them is the office to the Aprtment building which is a JOKE...the people that cause all the problems are the ones answering your complaints...GOOD JOB GREYSTAR FOR BEING A WORTHLESS COMPANY THAT CAN'T EVEN HAVE SOMEBODY INPROTANT CALL YOU ABOUT THE NUMEROUS ISSUES AT ALDERWOOD PARK APTS. AND NOT THE WORTHLESS EMPLOYEES THAT TRY TO MANAGE AN APARTMENT BUILDING THAT ALL THEIR RESIDENTS THINK CAN'T TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ANYTHING ....WHAT A JOKE..BUT IF YOU LIVE HERE, YOU LEARN THAT GREYSTAR IS NOTHING BUT A JOKE AND THE EMPLOYEES THAT WORK FOR THEM... AGAIN, RUN, RUN FAST AND FAR FROM THIS PLACE.... COME ON GREYSTAR CORPORATE, CALL AND FACE THE...

Pros: The office staff is all VERY friendly and helpful. There are lots of beautiful courtyards with grills and picnic tables. Lots of green and trees, I don't feel like I'm in a cement jungle. Great walking access to Alderwood Mall area, including the new Costco, and bussing is not bad as Lynnwood TC is fairly close, and there are a couple of bus stops right outside the complex, Ash Way P&R and Swamp Creek P&R are also really close! Parking is not bad, they don't have a limit on cars or anything, just sometimes you have to park a little further away if your neighbor is having a party or something. Fireplace! I love my fireplace. They're doing a lot of renovating right now and the work they're doing looks great, the apartment across the hall from us is getting work done and it looks awesome! I can say the recent housing company change-over is looking like it's a good thing.
Cons: A lot of the amenities are out of order often. Fitness center equipment, tanning bed, etc. These things are NOT requirements for me, and it wouldn't be a big deal that they were out of order, but those things were kindof one of the reasons I picked this place - "I can cancel my gym membership!" etc. So it'd be nice if those things worked more often. Not very much natural light - my apartment feels like a cave most times, and the money I save on heating in winter and fans in summer, I SPEND just lighting the place, as, even on a beautiful day, I have to turn on lights to see anything. Many of the appliances are old and outdated - HOWEVER, they work! If something doesn't work, housing will replace it with something newer. Certain parts of the apartment feel like they're just falling apart. But it is an old place, and that kindof just comes with the territory. LOTS of cats wandering about. At first I thought they were all strays, but apparently they belong to tenants who just let their cats wander about. Be careful when driving around! (I've also come out to my car to find cat vomit on it once...yum.)
TL;DR: If you're looking for affordable housing, with nice staff, and access to a lot of Lynnwood, this is a great little place. I'll probably move when I can afford it, but for now, they're pet friendly, nice people, and I've never had a package or anything go missing. They also recently expanded their office hours for more...
Read moreI lived at Alderwood Park with my partner for about a year. I enjoyed the amenities and found the proximity to grocery stores and other essential places convenient. The area felt safe and is relatively quiet. The staff at Alderwood Park were always kind.
The reason for my rating is because there was a rat infestation in the immediate area surrounding the building we lived in the entire time I lived there.
I informed management and maintenance as soon as I noticed the problem through work orders, emails, as well as in-person, and even tried to deal with the infestation in my balcony myself. However, it persisted. I regularly checked but never observed signs of rats in my apartment, only outside. The infestation was so severe that I regularly saw them during the day, and they left a large hole in the balcony closet where they gnawed on the wood. I would clean the balcony and fresh droppings would be seen each day. I removed all of my plants and we didn't eat there, in fact we rarely used the balcony, yet we continued to encounter rats and their droppings. On several occasions, I heard them running (and fighting), and observed rat burrows and baby rats running around adjacent buildings. Quite frankly, it was disgusting. I documented everything to be sure it wasn't just me being picky. Even my guests documented and experienced this which was, to say the least, quite embarrassing.
As if this wasn't bad enough, when we moved out they charged us a cleaning fee for a supposed stain on our carpet which I did not see when I recorded my unit walk-through prior to returning the keys. I requested evidence of such stain, but they were unable to provide, yet charged me.
The management did change while we were living there, so it is entirely possible that at least some of this has been since dealt with. I sincerely hope they hired a reliable maintenance team since then because there was only one person doing the work when I lived there. I strongly believed this significantly hindered their response to this public health issue.
If you are reading the review as a potential tenant, I recommend you take a close look at the apartments as you tour or before moving into the unit. Early signs of an infestation can be difficult to miss if you're rushed and not paying attention to details, but looking for things like burrows, droppings or gnawed wood may be helpful for spotting rats...
