Come one, come all!
Sushi Spott made my wife’s day today! Let me explain…
H-Mart in Lynwood has been a visiting spot for my wife and anyone she travels with when she comes to this area. Specifically, Oshima and I Luv Tofu. Since Oshima closed, my beautiful wife has been suffering as she has not been able to get her Spicy Tuna salad - arguably her most favourite dish in the menu.
Imagine our surprise when, after deciding to visit H-mart to get a snack, we noticed that a new restaurant has opened in the same place Oshima vacated. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that Sushi Spott has a menu, similar to that of Oshima’s.
Curious, we approached the staff and found out that the restaurant is owned and operated by an ex-colleague of the Oshima owner as well as some of his ex-workers.
With some trepidation, my wife ordered the Whe Deop Bap (spicy shashimi salad) and the Tuna Tataki Sashimi. My wife found the Whe Deop Bap to be fresh and super tasty, the portion huge and the textures made her super happy, to the point we returned a bit later and she ordered the Tuna Tataki Sashimi. The quality of the second dish, just affirmed her new-found love for Sushi Spott’s delicious food.
Later, when our friends joined us, they ordered the Chirashi Sashimi. That dish also was extremely fresh and flavourful. My friend disliked some of the dish and the owner came to apologize in person and gave my friend a complementary dish. The service was fast and amazing and the fact the owner made it right immediately, backing his staff and product just made us like this place even more.
If you liked Oshima do yourself a favour and come back to try...

Girl says we have to tell them for free shumai after placing order. I said that’s silly. Boy rolls up and says we have to say if it’s dine in or take out. There was no option for this online so I assume he means I should call after online order and tell them if take out or dine in. I asked him if I git free shumai if I dine in. He say yes. I ask if free shumai come if I take out. He say yes. So I ask why it matter if I dine in or take out to get free shumai. Boy apologize and that was supposed to be the end, but as I walk away I hear girl giggle. It’s just shumai but dang, don’t point fingers or make stuff up and certainly not giggle like it’s a joke. If you make mistake just say so, don’t blame the customer and...
Read moreIt’s a sushi kiosk in a food court with many other great options, but this place rocks. There’s always a steady stream of people cycling through, so they seem to serve a high volume, but they do it quickly and with style. Food and presentation are consistently appealing. Service is always pleasant and friendly. For the price, quality, and presentation of food provided, this place is an excellent value. The location across the street from Alderwood mall makes this one of our favorite spots (no pun intended), especially as there’s another store that serves delicious boba tea and desserts in the same food court. 4/5 stars for atmosphere because it’s in a food court where the tables and chairs could use some maintenance, but that’s also part of its charm, and it’s top notch in all...
