Olson's HiFi — Local services in Lynnwood

I can't say enough good things about Olson's HiFi. We bought a house last summer and it's always been my dream to have a room I could set up as an awesome media/movie watching room. I found Olson's after a lot of frustration trying to work with Best Buy. I walked into Olson's Hifi about 30 minutes before closing and their owner Ben was there and not only talked me through a lot of options, he showed off some speakers in their theater room and stayed late talking with me. An hour later he had a few estimates/quotes sent my way with different prices points and options. I couldn't believe the incredible prices he was quoting - he easily beat the price you could get by walking into any other store by about 10% on every single item. He came out to my house that Saturday to view the space and then we went back to their showroom to listen to different speakers. The whole process was informative and very low pressure. It was clear they wanted me to get something that worked for me and my budget.

We finally settled on a 5.1.4 setup with Kef in-walls. We got the install scheduled and I was so happy with the skill of their installers. They did a great job, patched up the drywall, and even had a recommendation for someone to paint our basement after the drywall work was done. They did some great things to help future proof like using smurf tube to the TV so I could pull a new HDMI cable in the future if needed. They also recommended (and I agreed) to run cabling for a projector in case I ever want to go that route in the future. Total time from walking into their showroom for the first time to watching a movie in my new media room was less than a month. I spent significantly less than if I had stuck it out with Best Buy and I got a much better system installed. I couldn't be happier with the end result.

Walking into Olson’s feels like stepping into an audiophile and home theater dream. I worked with Mardi in-store, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, willing to demo anything and everything while helping us put together the perfect system within our budget. When we decided a week after scheduling to tweak our setup and add more speakers, Olson’s made it happen effortlessly—no hassle, no stress, just excellent service.

For the installation, we worked with Ben (the owner), Travis, and Bret. They did an outstanding job, ensuring everything was dialed in perfectly. We ultimately went with a 7.2.4 Paradigm in-ceiling sound system, paired with a Marantz Cinema receiver, a Sony 5000 projector, and a Severtson screen—and we could not be happier with the result.

I genuinely can't wait to work with Olson’s again for future AV projects (a turntable and audiophile speakers are definitely in our future). They don’t just treat you like a customer—they care about your experience and want you to love your setup as much as they do. Choosing Olson’s over a big-box store was the best decision we could have made.

Ben and the guys at Olson's are awesome! Not only will they take their time and answer all your questions, they'll do it without a hint of pressure. Looking for something they don't carry? No problem. They'll give you their honest opinion about it and tell you where to find it for the best price. Their pricing is hard to beat as well. I bought a music streamer from them and it was nearly $100 less than Amazon. Ben and the staff are super personable and they really do go out of their way to please their customers. It's a top notch outfit all the way. Professional, knowledgeable, and crazy friendly. They treated me like family on my very first visit. Hell, they don't even mind just hanging out and listening to great music with you. They're small, and their selection of brands could be better, but their service certainly couldn't.
