Totally Awesome! Young lady at service desk was asked to answer phones look up a sale to cancel a delivery for another customer. A manager or maybe just a person with seniority interrupted our interaction about locating a pond product to ask her about needing cash. Then lifted a drawer and found several hundred dollars bills and interrupted the girl again to ask if she needed money or just couldn't find it, and then went on about the guy giving her several hundred dollars. When she finally stopped talking to help another customer. The girl stopped our conversation to ask the lady who interrupted the beginning of our interaction about canceling a third party appliance delivery, who then said they don't cancel third party deliveries, and directed her to transfer the phone call to the appliance department. After two more phone calls and more interruptions from the other cashier, I finally was able to ask about the product I was looking for. The young lady looked at me and asked if I knew the SKU. I told her I didn't, but showed her the product name from the Google search. It showed a product from Home Depot, but the page wouldn't open. The young associate with purple hair looked online and asked me when I wanted it, I told her as soon as possible. She said if I wanted it free from the store it would be available for pick up on June 1st. If I wanted it sooner I would have to pay to have it delivered. I said I would just order it, and she said she could get it for free but then wanted a ton of personal information. As I started to share the information the Hispanic woman returned and interrupted again about the cash drawer, the $100 bills, and what she thought the purple haired associate wanted from her. The Hispanic woman was rude and clearly doesn't care that the purple haired associate is on the phone or talking to a customer, and she just took it from this woman. The purple haired associate is young, looks like a new hire or new to the service desk and she appears to be trying to learn as she goes. I don't know how she learns anything or how she can retain anything if she is being asked to answer phones, look items up, work with walk up customers, and then have one or more persons interrupting her. I left with out the product I drove 40 minutes to buy because it is supposed to be in stock. The purple haired girl couldn't find it in stock and only wanted to order it for pick up because it was free. Really irritating waste of time for me. While buying a gallon of simple green a third cashier and service desk associate told me she was sorry for the confusion, it happens all of the time. I asked her why no one says anything and how the new associate is going to learn anything if she is expected to give the Hispanic woman her undivided attention while performing four other customer service interactions all at once. The cashier said "We try!", laughed and apologized. Maybe a manager or a different manager needs to oversee the Service desk associate training. I was to the point where I wanted to tell the Hispanic woman to stop interrupting and...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible customer service. Went to the customer service desk to ask if it was possible to set up my military discount there since I was already there and decided to make a fairly large purchase. Was told politely by one young lady she would help me as soon as she was done with another customer. Perfect! Another young lady came up and said she could help and proceeded to tell me how to do it on line. I explained to her I would like to set it up then since I was there ready to make the purchase. She said ok sure and as soon as she said that another lady background belted out we can do that here because they will not allow us to download anything on these computers. The young lady helping me turned to me and said oh I thought you had a personal phone. I simply said I do have a personal phone on me. She looked at me and said in a very snide tone and said please don’t speak to me that way. What? I was not loud, rude, hell I didn’t even use profanity, I was simply confused by what she said. I simply put my military ID back in my wallet and walked away. I wasn’t two steps away and she loudly said YEAH. Thanks for serving those who served Home Depot canal Winchester. I’ll take my business to Lowe’s. Should have been simple as yes we can help here you go or sorry sir we can not.
After I posted this I received a nice generic response from Home Depot thanking me. They also included a webform link to help me more. Go figure the link won’t open. What a joke, stick with...
Read moreOn 12/26 Stephanie arrived at my home 50 minutes late for a cabinetry appointment. She never apologized for being late and I had to introduce myself as she stood in my foyer with arms folded. I walked her to the kitchen and she asked me “if I was ready for new cabinets?” I thought that was weird but told her I am buying new appliances and I’d like to see how much cabinets would cost. She proceeded to tell me my cabinets were dated and it would cost $20k to remodel. Stephanie NEVER measured 1 cabinet so how did she come up with this price? When I said that she said “you have to get cheap out of your mind.”
Once she said that I told her she assumed I didn’t have money to spend, she never apologized for being 50 minutes late, and I told her to get out of my house.
This was elevated to store manager Amanda and regional manager Scott. They were both kind and listened. Scott said he’d pull Stephanie in and talk with her. I emailed the corporate office and no response.
I told both managers that I believe Stephanie’s poor attitude is based on the color of my skin based on her neglect of apologizing for being late, arms crossed the entire time, quoting price without even measuring or going over options, and telling me to get cheap out of my mind!
This experience was horrible and I’m disgusted that the corporate office hasn’t responded. I will never patronize Home Depot again so appliances will come from...
