Was out at Mammoth for 5 days of skiing and realized on day 3, that the fit for my boots had to be off- serious shin bang. Instead of demoing boots, I got fit and I was off a size, so I bought new boots and custom footbeds.

Day 4 was amazing- “new boot day” was real. Throughout the day, my shins felt better- kept tightening my boots as needed. I had my skis adjusted to my new boots at the rental shop at the mountain, and this adjustment really made it easier to carve! Not just new boots, I basically got new skis too. Minor adjustments really make a difference!

Day 5 was a little miserable because the shins, but I’m super excited for the holidays when I drive up north to get more days in!

I happen to have small feet, needed a low volume boot, my heels apparently don’t take up that much space. In the future, I can get custom boot liners because these boots are the correct size. One foot also happens to be a little larger which puts me almost in between sizes.

To note- custom footbeds only take 30 min to have made if the shop isn’t busy!

Went in twice because my 3-year old boots were finally breaking in. First time my boots were over-corrected, but I appreciate the kindness and alacrity of the gentleman who helped me. Second time, I was flat out ignored by a staff member in favor a customer who came in behind me--no appointment for either of us. Then I was subtly insulted for not having more expensive boots. Then this salesperson then got irritated with me and I was told I couldn't be helped because I was having trouble verbalizing exactly and with precision the problem with my boots.
