I’ve been here every six months for three years. I so wish I could support the local economy and give them five stars, but there are serious challenges with their ice cream. To be charged $4.00 for a small scoop and have the ice cream be freezer burned with water crystals and have the ice cream taste like it has absorbed everything from its ventilation system is unacceptable. On a side note, they don’t accommodate Mammoth’s healthy life style of vegans and those that have compromised immune systems by not providing sugar free or dairy free ice cream. It’s called Hugs and the staff could surely use some. They seem consistently miserable, don’t smile and seem annoyed when you walk in the door. Maybe it’s a management issue, not sure. Would so love to see them up their game for winter season! In the mean time go to Vons. Your selection is better and you’ll be guaranteed...
Read moreCame in from out of town and had dinner at burgers. Went over to huds to get ice cream at 815 on Monday. There were six customers inside being served ice cream and about 8-10 people outside looking confused. When we walked up, they informed us they were told they were closed. Which was interesting since the sign on the door with business hours indicated they were open until 9. So I peeked in and asked if they were open and they said were closed. I then asked “even though your business hours indicate your open until 9?” Then we were greeted with a “yes”. I said ok. And left. This was Monday June 21st 2021. I understand things happen, there could be a number of reasons why they needed to close early. But, an explanation would be appreciated since your the only game in town at that time and there are 10-12 people with confused looks on...
Read moreThe ice cream tastes good and that’s the only best thing about this place. Service was okay but could’ve been better if the employees made it seem like they were happy to be working there. The scoops of ice cream given was a good amount. I had ordered the ice cream cookie sandwich which turned out to be a huge disappointment. The cookies were hard as rock and not soft so you could bite into it. We ended up breaking the cookies in pieces and using them to scoop up the ice cream in the middle to make it edible enough to eat. Didn’t want to waste the $8 I paid for it. I’d rather look for another place to find better desserts, especially for...
