Unique and quality offerings, convenient location and reasonable price. A surprising little gem in the heart of the mountain village.
This was the first place we had breakfast at, being across the street from our hotel, and the only place in walking distance that had breakfast early in the morning. We ended up coming back here twice, but only had a sit-down breakfast the first time.
It’s a counter-service place, not full-service, so expect to place an order, get your number and wait to hear your number.
We ordered an omelette (3 egg is standard) with bell peppers, onions, turkey sausage and cheddar. Added a latke (potato pancake) and a side of crispy bacon. It came with toast (we chose sourdough).
Everything was delicious. The omelette was perfectly done and surprisingly filling, despite being listed as a 3-egg omelette, we split this and both felt full the whole morning. The add-ins added nicely to the flavor, especially the flavorful turkey sausage. The bacon was crispy, as ordered, and delicious.
The only negatives were; the butter wasn’t applied to the toast and it was cold so we had to let it sit for a while to melt and the drink selection was odd. Fortunately they had regular Coca Cola, not my favorite but it will do.
The latke was one of the first I’ve been able to find in a restaurant, usually I have to make them at home, and it was amazing. I wanted to come back and get more but just never got the chance. It was served with sour cream and apple sauce, but we just ate it straight, the apple sauce wasn’t my favorite, but both were in side containers so they can be used or not.
A couple days later we stopped in for a quick bagel and cream cheese, the bagel was nice but I can’t really talk too much about bagels. It was a good bagel and Philly cream cheese.
While waiting for the bagel, I noticed a bagel pizza, and decided I would get one to take home the last day. So that’s exactly what I did. The morning of our drive, I stopped in and grabbed a bagel pizza and some cookies. The cookies were great too! A couple days after getting home, I threw half the bagel pizza in my air fryer and wow! It was really delicious. I was quite surprised. I knew it looked good but I wasn’t prepared for how good. I have no idea how it’s served there, because I specifically asked for it ti be kept cold so I could eat it later, but I highly recommend the bagel...
Read moreSmall cramped place but a least had seating outdoors. One of the employees brushed by the plastic cups at the register and after picking them up, did not throw them in the trashcan, but took them in the back. Are you drinking from the cup that landed on the floor? Who knows! Couldn’t see the menu on the back wall due to the glare and no paper menus available, so they said to look at the menu online, which has no prices. Annoying. After placing my order, the girl said just hit continue and before I knew it I was giving a tip. My fault for not paying better attention. This new tip before you receive your food is not appreciated. I had the egg bagel with cream cheese, cucumber, and a slice of tomato. The bagel was hard AF and dry, and the cucumber was thick and sour. Couldn’t cut it with the plastic knives they provided so I had to take it back and have somebody cut it for me. So hard to chew. overall my first eating experience in Mammoth was not enjoyable. We won’t return to this establishment. Do...
Read moreThis is a good restaurant in downtown Mammoth. They have bagels, sandwiches and hot/cold beverages options. They also have decent vegetarian and vegan options as well. We ordered the potato latkes( pancakes or hashbrowns like dish) with sour cream and apple sauce with an additional serving of the jalapeño cream cheese. We also ordered the everything bagel with spinach artichoke cream cheese, sesame bagel with tofu cream cheese, ham and cheese omelette with side of country style potatoes. We also ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, espresso shot and iced caramel macchiato with almond milk. The lakes were crispy and well seasoned. The sour cream and the apple sauce were really good complements for that dish. The spinach and artichoke cream cheese had predominantly spinach taste and dish not get any artichoke flavor. The tofu cream cheese with the sesame bagel was really good. The orange juice was ok and had a slight bitterness. Overall it was a...
