Initially pleased, now highly disappointed. We purchased a beautiful table and chairs set. Spending around 2.5k total. This was just over a year ago. The service and support was great during purchase. However, we noticed that the wax-like coating and paint on the table has not withstood very very basic use. It started to show within about 6 or 7 months. We are a very mellow couple with no kids. Wear and tear on all our things is minimal, and we accept that things will lose luster over time, of course. When contacted, West Elm was extremely unhelpful. Basically a ....'been too long, deal with it' answer. They gave us the name of the (what turned out to be incorrect) paint and said "we have a partnership with Sherwin Williams". Period. End of story. I would caution anyone, especially the budget conscious folks, to think twice before spending your money here and expecting any sort of product support. I rarely complain, but this is a very very disappointing situation. We probably would have gotten better support and quality from a Target or other cheaper home goods place. Read moreThe people inside of this store act like they haven’t had a customer in ages. I went in and spotted a cute jewelry box that I wanted to purchased. A guy with dark hair that was just standing in the center of the store pointed me in the direction of the jewelry box, followed me to the jewelry and walked away even after I indicated that I wanted to buy. The store closes at 8:00, but the staff member (an older blonde lady) told us they couldn’t bring it out because it was “too heavy” 10 lbs max and we’d need to come back tomorrow. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional — there was still plenty of time before closing, and we had planned our evening around this pickup.
