I walked into the bathroom and there was an odd âfishyâ smell⌠then I walked into the plus womenâs section and saw a strange man staring avidly into the void. It made me very uncomfortable and I asked an associate to help me with the situation⌠They were busy at the registers and werenât able to get there any time soon⌠so I handle him my way⌠I didnât wait for help. The air in the womenâs section had that same sharp, fishy tang from the bathroom, thick and electric like a storm about to break. The man stood motionless between the racks of sweaters, eyes locked on a blank stretch of wall as if something beyond it was staring back. I walked up until I could smell the cold on him. âYou looking for something?â I asked, steady and flat. He didnât answer. His lips moved, but no sound came out. The overhead lights buzzed louder, flickering once, twice. The air shifted, temperature dropping like someone opened a freezer door. âNot here, youâre not,â I said, voice low but certain. He blinkedâslowlyâand for a heartbeat I thought I saw his pupils ripple, like ink in water. Then the smell surged, sharp enough to sting, and the space where heâd been standing folded. No sound, no flash. Just gone. The air snapped warm again. The hum of the store returned, checkout beeps and distant chatter. I stood there staring at the empty floor tiles, the scent already fading. But when I passed the mirror display on my way out, there was still a shape beside mineâblurry, colorless,...
Read moreI want to start by saying that I love Kohl's. I'm actually a convert lol--I'd never shopped there. I can't remember what got me started shopping there, but now I'm a rewards member & even have a Kohl's charge card. I'd give their online app & service 5 stars. I'm aware that there is a labor shortage right now, but this particular store seems to be woefully understaffed. I was there on a Saturday to make a return & do some shopping. I needed to find an employee to ask for help, so I walked around the whole store (and it's a big store) before I was able to find someone--and she handed me off to another person, who then proceeded to try and pawn me off on ANOTHER employee. This 3rd guy was helping someone and was clearly not happy about having to help me. He said something about not knowing anything about the jewelry section. That tells you there that they don't have enough people, especially on a weekend when they're always super busy. I've seen the line of people waiting to check out get to at least 10 or more. They have 8 total registers plus the ones in customer service. They only use half of them and have that many customers...
Read moreI had a just purchased from this location and when my husband asked for me if they have military discount, the woman (who has worked for kohls for 20 years) said that it's only available one day out of the week. so it was fine, then a young woman came up and helped us with getting the security tag off. My husband just wanted a second opinion so he asked her also. Then the older woman decided to get rude and question my husband on if he didnt believed her. And honestly he just wanted to just double check. Then what really set me off to write this review is that the older woman asked if we had a DD 214 card. Like excuse me! I have my military ID that I got when my dad served this country as a sergeant with front line infantry for 5 years! Like how dare you ask about that and proceeded to ask for us to show proof... for what? I wasn't getting the discount anyway because it was not the military day. Absolutely never going there again! Just down right...
