This place is an absolute wreck, and I’ll never be back. Nothing but problems dealing with them.
Looking back about 5-6 years- I bought a Tag watch here. Wore the watch a few years, and it needed service. No big deal. Go in, send the watch in for service, and actually bought another Tag while I was there. When the first one came back from service, I decided I wasn’t going to wear it anymore and I put it away in my watch winder, in an open slot, and turned that slot off. (I intended on not wearing it again for a long period of time, so no reason to keep it wound, wearing out the internals.) After a few years, the newer Tag needed service, so I sent that one in for service and refurb. Ed took the newer one back and sent it for service. At this point in time, I pulled the older Tag out of my watch winder and decided to work that back into my rotation as my daily wearer (I don’t like to wear my nicer watches to work.) So, the older Tag, which was serviced and not worn again, won’t keep time at all. If you take it off for anymore than about 12 hours, it would quit. I also had it quit while wearing it. Talked to Ed about this and he said it was probably just pooled oil from not wearing it for a few years. Kept wearing it, it never got better. So, my newer Tag comes back from it’s “full service and refurbishment” and they hadn’t done anything to refurbish the exterior. Really??? That’s the whole reason it went in!! So, Ed says they will send it back in to their service center, and rush it. Well, they didn’t rush anything. It was another month before that watch came back with the refurbishment done. So, at this point I insist they send the older Tag in to get checked out, since it hadn’t been worn since it’s service (until I just recently started wearing it again), and it wouldn’t keep time. They check it out, and it comes back with a new main spring. So- why wasn’t this caught during service the first time? When it went in for service, it did not have this problem, so I think they caused the issue.
Fast forward to our latest issue- my wife lost one of her earrings just before Christmas that I had bought from Jared for her birthday earlier this year. Go in to Jared to buy a replacement. They say I have to buy a whole new set, and they will trade in the 1 remaining earring. We were dealing with Beth I believe, and Beth says that the earrings are still the exact same price that we paid, so not a big deal, we trade in the one earing and get a new set at half price. They had to order the earrings from another store. I go in today to pickup the earrings, and the price we were told was not correct. The earrings were now $2450 rather than the $2000 I had paid. So, we trade in one earing $1000, and had to pay an additional $1450 to get the replacements. Not that this is a big deal to me, but it’s not what we were told, and just another mess, just another lie. Thanks a lot Jared, we will never be back.
Poor quality jewelry, sales people that can’t get anything right, and a watch service center that can’t get anything right… Terrible place to shop!
PS- In the last few months I’ve spent $30K at Wixon Jewelers on watches and jewelry, and they will get all my business moving forward. Much higher quality jewelry, and salespeople that know what...
Read moreI went to Jared's on March 9, 2017 for a scheduled appointment to get my wedding band appraised. The jewelry appraisal person is an outside person they bring in to do the appraisals. This guy has been doing appraisals for quite a while. He had also done the appraisal on my engagement ring so I have trust in him. After the appraiser was done with my wedding band, he went over the details of his appraisal report and all looked great! In fact, he said it was a beautiful ring with no major flaws. The appraiser then escorted me to a Jared employee to get my ring cleaned. The Jared employee took my ring from the appraiser and went to clean it. He then came back to me and pointed out that one of my stones was loose. He showed me and it was in fact loose. I asked if they would be able to fix it and he said they absolutely could. I made sure that he knew it was platinum before proceeding with letting them fix it knowing that platinum is a bit harder to work on. The employee still had no issues with committing to fix it. They charged me $175 before it was even fixed and said they would call me by end of day when it was ready. No longer than 20 minutes later, I get a call saying that my ring is not fixable due to the setting and that I have 3 chipped stones. I explained that I didn't understand how that was possible considering I had just gotten an appraisal done at their store and the appraiser said nothing about 3 chipped stones. I quickly came back into the store and when I arrived, the employee said the appraiser was the one who screwed it up and made him re write his appraisal. I tried looking for the loose stone in my ring and no longer had a loose stone. I also had tool marks all over my platinum band. I had very high doubts that they didn't touch my band. I took my ring to another jeweler and he verified that if the appraiser missed these chips in the stones, than he must be blind and that the tool marks on the band are fresh. He said he is almost positive that the people at Jared's were inexperienced at working with platinum and attempted to tighten a stone and ended up cracking my stones by incorrectly tightening them and therefore also leaving tool marks on my band and to save their own, they just turned around and blamed the appraiser. My wedding band is now sitting with that jeweler who actually knows how to work with platinum and has to rebuild my ring and replace the chipped stones for $500. I would highly recommend never going to Jared's for any ring repair. They are unskilled in their work and try to place blame elsewhere so that they aren't responsible for the damages. I will never visit Jared for ANY...
Read moreThank you, Beth! We purchased our wedding rings from Jared because we wanted the convenience of a chain retailer. Sounds crazy, yet, while personal attention and buying from a local shop is usually what I prefer to do - this was the decision we made.
When we were treated poorly at another location we had the luxury of being able to go to another location and we did, Maple Grove. There we were greeted by Beth! We just picked up our ring after a resizing which was totally botched by the other location and despite them telling us it was fine... the ring was too big. Beth reviewed everything and said she would help us. There was some concern that sizing the ring once again would cause an imperfection and replacement was an option. I began or felt as if I was going to cry as this was the ring we married with... and Beth must've felt my tears before they even fell as she immediately reached out and said we will try with this one... It is SO nice to get someone who conveys care .... I understand that sometimes things simply cannot be done and if the ring did not turn out well after the sizing we had other options. Beth was very considerate, professional and trustworthy....
We left the ring with the hope things would turn out, yet, either way we were treated with actual Customer Service.
When we picked up the ring, it was perfect and it finally fit! Beth was busy with other customers, yet, we wanted to make sure other people know if they're looking for jewelry and want someone who actually cares about you and your situation - Beth at Maple Grove Jared is definitely worth seeing.
Thank you, Beth for not only righting the wrong of another store, but for being so kind and considerate.... We truly appreciate everything and hope to see you again for our...
