I initially scheduled on a day the pool was closed, and the staff called me make sure I knew! I had to pay more, but they get a star for that attentive staff member. The second star they get for a decent room and half decent lounge. They lose so many stars because of: the morning staff; and when I asked about breakfast times I was told breakfast times, noone mentioned that the lackluster array of options was PRICED like a RESTAURANT BUFFET. We were not the only guests fleeing to McDonald's and Perkins. Coming back, we checked out of our room so they could prep for the next guests and went to the pool (we got in late the night before and planned to go in the morning) only to find the lockers were disfunctional in the pool area, and the keys were without a wristband, pin, clip, strap, etc. Just a loose key. My female swimsuit was not designed with pockets...the pool itself had floating snot, clumps of hair, bandaids... it was uncomfortably warm. The staff there looked miserable. The waterslides were fun though and the lily pads were a big hit. We were using the poolside showers since we had already checked out. My daughters shower had almost no water pressure and in the other one, that i used, the shower head was a removable one, great for little kids, but had NO WAY TO ATTACH TO THE WALL. Very challenging. Only surface area in there was a single bench, hard to manage soaking wet suits and dry clothes with the only the tiny towels provided and a drenched and poorly cleaned bathroom. The only soap was AWFUL, more like highly perfumed water. No swimsuit drying machine. Every bathroom stall I passed or used, all morning, was clogged, unflushed and just dirty. I'm told the men's showers and area were also broken and unpleasant. Next the "arcade room," it took tokens and/or quarters. Some machines would eat your money if the kids tried the wrong currency first. Some were even mislabeled! Kids left frustrated and dissapointed. Comparing this holiday inn to the quaint but amazing one we were at the night before, I was shocked. Do...
Read moreI booked 2 rooms here for my daughter's 5th birthday party and our stay was awful. I originally booked the elk river location, but that closed due to reported covid case (which no one called to inform me. I found that out after calling them). We checked in to a bunk bed family suite and right away we saw an old pop can sitting out. We were then moved to another room where then we found old bread underneath the bunk bed which my toddler pointed out. Then we found a random sweat shirt in there. Then after we got settled into our rooms we went down to the pool which had a line all the way to the main entrance due to limited capacity because of covid (which I understand to an extent) but as we waited in a line another parent there was trying to explain to the security guard that his children were inside and he refused to let him pass and made him go to the back of the line. He was extremely rude to this person. At check in the staff was very stand-off ish and was not informative at all. At checkout we went back to the pool for a little bit since our kids didn't really get a chance to swim. We noticed the consession was closed and when we asked about it the woman barely made eye contact and told us we could find somewhere around the area if we wanted food. Needless to say i do NOT recommend staying here. Especially for what they want to charge. The staff was not friendly or helpful. And especially during the time of covid there is absolutely no reason for any of the rooms to be dirty. I do not recommend staying here. The general manager followed up with me and he was very professional and did reduce the rate on the rooms, but overall he was probably the only good experience as he actually seemed to care and wanted to make sure our...
Read moreFirst off let me say i loved the waterpark and the lifegaurds. Unfortunatly ...... i attended a birthday on saturday from 11 to 2 and was watching .. those lifegaurds have to walk on egg shells because of crazy pregnant AGM who thinks questioning people in situation is the way to go . A young boy had gotten a bloody nose and the life gaurds did there job on controlling the situation and attending to the boy .. in the midst of all this the agm has to question every thing there doing. I would have brought my kids there more often but it seems like if you have trained professionals scared to make a wrong move and always looking over there shoulder . They cannot watch the water or look for signs for something wrong. It was a very uncomfortable enviroment. The cleaning people were also not being helpful and things were just piling up. So in conclusion it would be an awesome waterpark and would have been a great place to even do my kids birthdays but i will not support a place that belittles there staff and in return...
