Mud Bay — Local services in Maple Valley

I'm back and forth with the rating of this store. It's amazing! The staff were great and the options are great (it is Mud Bay after all). I was more disappointed in the layout I guess. That's something that stuck out to me, it is definitely not a cat-friendly store I guess. I mean, maybe cat-owners aren't super into consumerism? Idk. I just felt like the layout made you realize how MUCH STUFF dog-owners get to pick through. The cat food and treats were stuck to the right side of the building and you can see the walls of the area and feel how small that area is compared to the rest of the store. I found everything I needed at that spot so I didn't venture to the back of the store.

But the staff are bomb when it comes to customer service. They have cute little baggies of treats, like printed parchment paper baggies. And they have sample bags of the dry food so you don't have to commit to a big bag. Which is also a good business strategy in relation to their return policy...

Overall good experience here, just didn't...

I usually visit the Kent and now Fairwood shops as I live in Renton, but today I was closer to this one and figured I would stop since I've never been in. Smaller for sure, but the continuing theme of amazing products and a perfectly laid out store that pairs well with an extremely friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable staff runs true here (not that it surprised me, props Mud Bay!). They quickly helped look up a food that was discontinued/reformulated for my picky cats and helped me with samples on what I could possibly try to replace it, and didn't blink an eye at any stupid questions or extreme worry since one of my cats has a knack to go on hunger strikes if she doesn't like something in the slightest. The samples they give are generous, and the ideas to help with the hunger strikes were helpful and I'll definitely make a point to stop by this one whenever I'm in the area. I'm glad I stopped...

Love Mud Bay! Mud Bay is the pet store you go to when you finally accept your pet is a part of the family and not just the family pet. Mud bay can be pricier than other pet stores but but the selection they carry of foods toys bedding etc. is generally very safe, durable, and conscientious of a Pet's preferences or well being. On top of which, they have a 100% guarantee that if you are unhappy with any purchase, you can bring it back for a full refund. This location like many I have been to has very friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great selection for cats and dogs (possibly other small critters too). If you have cats, I highly recommend paw lickin chicken canned food, yeowz anything for catnip/cat toys and da fur/bird thing. If you have problems with your pets the staff can help and have fliers to hand out on tons of different issues! Stop by and see what Mud Bay has to offer of you...
