Five Below — Local services in Maplewood

Lots great items at decent prices. Unfortunately they profile you at the door. There was a group of about four or five workers chatting in the center of the store, I passed by and they took my bag saying it needed to be held at the front. They proceeded to disperse and follow me around the store. Constant eyes on me and watching them “clean” items near me did not make for a great experience. I made sure to keep my distance away from the product unless I was seriously considering it and they unsurprisingly “cleaned” towards me whenever I picked up items; only choosing to keep their distance when I did. Except for their clear and obvious stalking, it was a pretty decent 5 below. Would recommend to my white friends, maybe not anyone...

My 2 female friends and I got harassed. My friend had a pastrie from the mall that opened in her bag and a tall black man watched her take it out put it back it her bag after closing it and asked if she was stealing when she told him no and explained he walked away he followed us around the store asking if we were buying that referring to what we had in our hands and we said yes he went and got his manager and she asked to look in our bags just to literally find nothing we threw everything we were going to buy on a shelf and left so we got harassed for nothing by a loser who really shouldn't be following and literally staring only at a bunch of underage girls around a store it's very creepy will not...

The staff was very cool. As far as everything else naw. The front was a mess and not really any bags. No staff to check you out. So basically you go in to shop. Get your stuff and check yourself out. I almost have to ask why have employees. Why not hire a few contractors to stock three times a week and stop there cause it’s kind of being operated like this already.
