My boyfriend had bought me a jacket from this location and we decided we wanted to return it because I am pregnant and it just didnāt fit me.The lady who returned it was somewhat nice, she had a grey hoodie and glasses and considered the āmanagerā.Lateron me and my boyfriend were shopping for about an hour without a shopping cart so it was just him carrying items in his hands, the items were baby shoes and baby toys and menās shirts. My boyfriend then decided to go to the changing rooms but there was absolutely no one waiting to get into a changing room nor was there a worker. There was no sign with telling us to wait and the changing rooms were UNLOCKED. I told my boyfriend to wait as I was going to get a cart from the front but Iāll admit that he proceeded to enter the changing rooms with the items in his hand ON ACCIDENT but I came back fast enough with the cart for him to drop the items in the cart. Then a lady comes into the area, her name is Lisa, starts to yell at us and say Iām not supposed to enter the area with a shopping cart but I was just waiting for my boyfriend to get out and then I was going to leave. I was not going to stay there the whole time and I was not blocking the entrance way either, there was still room to move around if anybody else needed to get in but once again the changing rooms were empty. Lisa then proceeded to talk on her walkystating that we brought shoes into the changing rooms and to keep an eye out for us. She continuously kept asking my boyfriend if he spoke English which is not appropriate what so ever. She started to argue more with me and stating I was making problems with her but it was the other way around. I understand this location or all of the burlingtons have gotten more strict on security but to assume everyone has the same intentions on stealing and treating people like criminals is not what I wanted to experience shopping here today. After that we didnāt want to shop anymore and wanted to leave because we were so upset. Lisa then called the manager over on the walkie talkie and she walked over. Lastly when wearrived at checkout Sabrina was helping another person payout and we were next in line and there was a hispanic cashier wearing a tan shirt and wore glasses and she just got there for her shift.seemed her cashier was open but as we were walking to her cashier she walked away and yelled at us to get back. Just awful to be treated this way and if you guys want people to come back to this location then this location of workers need to work on their customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRude rude rude rude is all I can say about tonight 08/16/2022. Im a customer with children coming to shop yes I have 6 little ones with me. My family went in around 8pm before closing, my kids were with me the whole time. Yes they were going in and out of the clothes but that was it. The workers-let me say two (white) ladies there announced on the over head saying "please watch your kids, this is not a playground." Me thinking to myself my kids aren't running around they're with me the whole time, might not be my family. The lady walks right over and says ma'am please watch your kids they were going in and out of the clothes rack. I polity said sorry and told my children to not touch anything after that. Later I went to use the restroom with my 5 year old daughter I can hear the two worker come in. They saw my daughter waiting outside the stall and said 'ugh lets go to the men's restroom I like it there better."
After using the restroom my daughter we came out and my eldest child told me "mom they announce on the ever head again saying- please watch you're children this isn't a playground." Me I felted targeted by these individuals because one my children was not touching any of the clothes or products at the store, they were on open carpet area where they were just doing cartwheels. They weren't running or horsing around the store. My daughter also told me the two worker also stare at them for a while and told them the samething, the store isn't a playground. This store needs better customer service, they must not have bad customer or something but there's clothes shoes etc on the ground and my children sure didn't make the mess. Next time I'll make sure my children does the mess before they target my family again. May I say there was only like 4 other family there with us that night. Please go teach what customer service to the management there again or whoever was running the show because the cashier (male) employees was humble...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDid you ever watch "Hoarders" and wonder what it would be like to visit? That's Burlington Coat Factory Maplewood - messy, chaotic, and looks like a hoarder house. If you can get through the store there are great prices on name brand items. The messy and unsafe store makes shopping difficult.
The reviews stating the store looks like a riot and a tornado blew through is 100% accurate. The store is so messy that it's not safe. The store would not pass a fire code inspection. Many aisles you cannot walk through due to clutter and merchandise spilling off the shelf and onto the floor. Some of the piles on the floor are 3+ feet high. Trash can outside store over full with trash, garbage is blowing all over the sidewalk and parking lot. The bathroom smelled so bad, I didn't dare walk in.
When I visited, a theft alarm was loudly beeping on a coat. You could hear the alarm from the front of the store. The employees did nothing to help. I could see customers were upset by the noise, many covering their ears. I located the coat near the back of the store and personally walked it to the front of the store and gave to security to deal with. Didn't get a thank-you for doing their job.
Do NOT visit this story if you are visually impaired or have a disability that affects your balance or ability to walk!!! Anyone using a walker, wheelchair or cane would not be safe in this store due to excessive clutter, stuff falling off the shelves, blocked walkways and stuff on the floor poses a trip/fall hazard.
Also keep your children close to you for their safety. The toy section is one of the worst areas.
The only employees I saw in the store were cashiers and a security guard blasting music on his cell phone, located at the front of the store. It looks like employees abandoned the rest of the store. This store needs help asap!!!
If you want to shop Burlington - drive to Roseville or...
