I was very skeptical about going there after reading all of the negative reviews but I wanted to see Lindsey Sterling and didn't have any other options. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The show was supposed to start at 7:30 with the doors opening at 6:30 so we decided to arrive at 5:30 hoping to get a good place in line. I was surprised that there already was a substantial line there and we got into our place with about 200 people n front of us. Over the next hour the number of people approximately doubled and when the doors opened everyone went in, in an orderly fashion and were pat searched going in. Security was very friendly and I had no issues with them. The main floor filled to about 1/3 capacity and then slowed to a small but steady stream thereafter. By the time the show started the main floor was full but not severely crowed. I was off to the side and stayed off the main floor and had a great experience seeing the show. I later asked my niece and nephew what their experience was like being about 15 feet back from the stage on the main floor. My nephew was of decent height (around 70") and said he could see everything fine. My Niece being a little shorter (around 66") said she had an ok view about half the time as there was a taller man in front of her. There were also quite a few parents there with young children (since it was an all ages show) but i can't imagine it was worthwhile for the children being so short and standing on the min floor. I would recommend if you are short go to the sides or go upstairs for a better experience. The sound quality wasn't bad. It was a little ear splitting loud at first but after the first couple songs they tweaked it down a little to be more tolerable (or maybe I got used to it). They allowed camera phones recording the show but I think that was at the artists discretion so call ahead first to find out how strict they are going to be if you want to do that. I did also ask security about drinks in the bathroom and kicking people out. They explained it was a policy they had to help ensure against minors getting alcohol from someone else, something they are dead serious on trying to prevent. Also note, the pat search was to also make sure no one was bringing in weapons and they also considered over sized key carabiners to be like brass knuckles so leave them in the car. Finally when the concert was over the staff worked hard at directing traffic out of the parking lot to help wit congestion and keep people leaving in an orderly fashion. I will definitely go back...
Read moreI had really low expectations for this place but...... Wow.
Only good things were the sound and the bouncers / coat check / box office were really friendly. The reason this place is getting one star from me is because of two things. First, the place was filthy, we bought VIP packages, we asked where we were allowed to go using our wristbands. They showed us upstairs, the staff were really nice and answered all of our questions. However the "booth that usually goes for the most money" had a great view but there was actual garbage all over the place. It had not been cleaned at all since the last time it was used. Then they figured out that our wristbands didn't actually get us in the upper VIP area. Then we we're asked to leave. No big deal but we were tasked with asking 4 different bouncers where we were allowed to go. I don't work there. The staff was clearly not briefed before the show.
Secondly and most importantly there is a bartender there who comes off as very friendly but CONSISTENTLY SEXUALLY HARRASSED MY GIRLFRIEND, OTHER PATRONS, AND HIS COWORKER. He is a tall bald, white fellow with a salt and pepper beard and mustache. He repulsed me to the point where I refused to seek his services. "Can I help you? I mean, I know how I can help YOU" was said to a female patron while I was standing by after he skipped me to creepily point at her and draw her in with his twisting finger. After that, while a co-worker of his was standing on something to pour out large amounts of champagne for the New year's he said "from here we get a nice view of your butt. Just so you know it is a really nice butt" he tried then to get his supervisor and the crowd to chime in. She was visibly uncomfortable.
Y'all should be doing better to create an environment where people don't feel predatory vibes from your bar staff. A woman who was so drunk she forgot she had harrassed me on 3 separate ocassions was later spotted making out with the VIP bartender. She should have been bounced but instead was being engaged sexually by STAFF.
Clean the garbage...
Read moreWe saw Dropkick Muphys here. The band was awesome, but the experience was totally ruined by the Myth. First of all, parking is crappy and confusing. There's a mall parking lot but only certain spots can be used by Myth Patrons. Getting in took forever. Either they didn't hire enough staff, or there are too few doors.
Inside is the ABSOLUTE WORST setup for a concert like this. The standing room dance floor is surrounded by an elevated concourse with bar stations on the outside wall. There are only three walkways from the dance floor to the concourse. There are some tables and booths down on the dance floor towards the back. The Stage is elevated about four feet. There are some VIP balconies up above.
From what I gather, only about 10% of patrons would have a good sight line to the band. That would be people standing on the edge of the outside concourse railing, at the VIP railing, or tall people on the dance floor. Everyone else is staring at the back of someone's head. The stage isn't elevated enough or configured in such a way to increase visibility to the crowd.
They let WAY TOO MANY people in. we were totally packed like sardines. People were constantly jostling you, even if you were all the way in the back. Getting drinks took 5 minutes minimum. Forget about going to what seemed to be the only restroom in the place.
There aren't enough bouncers to do their jobs. They allowed people in the crowed to forcefully shove people around while trying to push their way from one place to another. They seemed only concerned with booting out crowd-surfers and protecting the stage. Who cares about crowd-surfing when your wife is being knocked off her feet by some uncouth animal.
I would never consider giving this place another cent of my money. Honestly I think the situation that night must have been...
