I went to Home Depot yesterday around 5:20 PM with the intention of purchasing a front tine tiller. Upon entering, I headed to the left toward the lawn mowers while checking the app to confirm the in-store availability of the item (which showed one in stock). My parents were browsing nearby when a female associate approached, not exactly with a welcoming demeanor, and asked my dad if he needed help. He politely said no.
I stepped in and asked if they had any tillers in stock. She responded rather abruptly that they did not, and added that someone else had already come in asking for one. Her tone and body language made it pretty clear that further assistance wasnāt something she was interested in offering.
So I went to the customer service desk and provided the SKU, hoping for a little more effort. The employee looked at the screen, essentially seeing the same thing I was seeing on my phone⦠still no help, no attempt to actually check. Meanwhile, another customer service rep repeated the same question to the same associate. By this point, both customer service went to ask the female associate for the availability of the lawn mowers. it was painfully obvious that no one was going to do more than repeat āthereās nothing in stockā without actually verifying anything.
I left the store and placed a pickup order online because apparently, thatās the only way to get accurate information. As I exited, I heard the original associate loudly announce, āI told them thereās nothing in stock,ā as if that somehow proved her point.
Ironically, an hour later, I received a notification that my pickup order was ready (No way you can miss a box thatās 100 lbs with the brand and model on it).
āāNone in stockā must be the standard script for anyone who isnāt white walking into this store. Iāve observed this multiple times at customer service while...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a gas range and delivery on New Yearās Eve 2022, the first delivery attempt happened and everything seemed fine until the new stove was unboxed and was damaged. After following up the same day and the following day, I was told that it would take 2 weeks for the next delivery attempt, which was a little shocking and frustrating, but the old stoveās range still worked and it was a workable situation. Nothing lost beyond the 2 hours of my life that I had spent doing the leg work to figure out this situation. By the day before the new delivery was supposed to happen, I still had no confirmation that the delivery would in fact happen, so I called again and spoke with an incredibly nice person over the phone, and was told that a plumber was set for Wednesday and that they would need to dig to make sure the unit itself would be delivered on Tuesday. After 40 or so minutes, the delivery was confirmed and I was told the plumber would arrive in the same window, today (Wednesday). After the 7 to 11am window passed and I heard from no one, I called the helpline again and was on hold for over an hour, during this time, I received another phone call where I was informed that the plumber had been entered wrong into the system and would not be coming and that the earliest they could be to my house was the following Monday. Monday will be a full month without a working stove and oven, which is utterly unacceptable. The apathy in which my concerns were met with means that this will be my last experience with Home Depot overall, and specifically this store. Jason really let me down as a sales person and I will be purchasing the rest of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe wanted to buy our kids a new play set and found the one we wanted at Home Depot. I tried to order it online, but I also wanted to use a prepaid visa debit card towards the purchase I was making and then called to see if I could do it over the phone since I was using two different payment methods. The nice lady on the phone told me the only way I could use my prepaid debit card I had was to go to a Home Depot store and purchase one of their gift cards with it. So I went to the store and explained what I was told over the phone at the orders counter they have there and the older lady who was speaking with me told me I couldnāt do that. So I asked where their gift cards were and went and purchased a $500 Home Depot card and went back to the order counter to place my order. I went to a gentleman this time since the older lady was so rude and he seemed less than thrilled to help me with my $3,800 purchase of a play set. He wasnāt entering in the remaining balance of the set correctly and I had to call my cc company while there and they said he was trying to send in a transaction for $0.00. While Iām talking to my cc company on the phone the older lady comes over to him and says ā I told her she couldnāt do thatā. He replies I know Iām just rolling my eyes at her. Iām ignoring their rude comments and he finishes my transaction. Not a thank you or nothing from either of them. I will not be shopping at the Maplewood, MN Home Depot ever again after this interaction with...
