We made 2 back to back appts for vaccines for our kittens. We waited over two hours to be seen after our scheduled appointment time. It makes zero sense to have an appointment scheduled when they check in and take people in the order they walk in not taking people at their scheduled time. When we finally got in, the vet assistant acted she'd never touched an animal before in her life. Just a little background, our two kittens are very calm and love to be pet and held and even roll over for belly rubs. They just love attention. When we opened the crate they were a little timid cause they're unfamiliar with the vet still. She acted like she was scared to help our first kitten out of the crate onto the table and it took us over 5 minutes to get him out because she was trying to talk to him instead of just coaxing him out. We ended up taking the kitten out ourselves because we were tired of being there and waiting for them. The following entire situation could have been alleviated if they simply let him sit there for two seconds, feel comfortable and give him a little treat on the towel or wrapped him in a purrito like a normal person, but it was a total disaster! Neither kitten is aggressive but the second the kitten was on the table, the assistant tried restraining him immediately and incorrectly. She wrapped her hands entirely around his neck and throat and jammed her elbow into his side. All of her weight was on top of him as she pushed his face hard into table and the scale. They called some random Petco employee in to hold his front legs and you could hear he was struggling to breathe from how tight her hand was wrapped around his throat. He started howling and screeching, then the assistant covered just his head with a towel and the vet started spraying his entire back leg with what I'm assuming is an alcohol solution? 3 different times before the vaccine. He was soaked at this point, so of course he started freaking out. Me and my fiance were both extremely uncomfortable with the way they handled our kittens and two seconds from walking out of the appointment but both agreed we'd stay since we had already waited so long. After stressing my kitten out to no end, they did the same exact thing to my second kitten and after everything told us they weren't able to administer the vaccine on either kitten and recommended us make another appointment. So let me get this straight, after waiting 2.5 hours, you can't even perform the services we scheduled?! We had a third appointment scheduled for our older cat and since they were running so far behind we had already missed it and they recommended we come back for their first appointment after lunch because we'd 'get right in.' We did that and waited another 40 minutes just to get checked in plus our appointment. Overall we were in Petco for almost 4 hours by the time we left and didn't even get the vaccines we were scheduled for. We were talking to other people in line that had waited hours and had been rescheduled because the clinic cancelled more than once for their appointments too. Nobody there was happy at all. The morning had a good 15 people waiting in line for hours, dogs barking, everyone was impatient, there was only 1 vet and appointments scheduled every 5 minutes and it was a zoo. We will not be rescheduling any appointments with their vet clinic ever again or recommending these services to anyone we know. These people have no clue what their doing....
Read moreI give this 3 stars because the place was not that busy but so slow. One girl was assisting a family with fish. We waited patiently for our turn. Another employee was tending to animals and busy as well. Then a person who I believe is the manager comes by and instead of helping she’s talking to people who appear to be friends, giving her thought on a nationwide computer crisis.
I walk over by her hoping to get her attention without interrupting the conversation, she looks at me and continues on with her personal conversation, asking about their lives. Once they leave then does my bf get her attention to assist. She gets somebody to help, who she then asks if she took lunch yet, which she didn’t as she skipped because they were busy.
She continues talking, not taking over for the girl who missed lunch. I compliment the girls speed in getting the fish we selected, the manager eagerly took the compliment for herself saying “we’ve been doing this along time”, still not helping.
The young lady was quick and efficient getting our fish. I didn’t get all the different ones I wanted as we were done at this point. Then we get to the register, only one works because the other two are down from the computer crisis. You’d think they’d all be on the same system??? Guess who waits on us? You got it NOT the manager but the girl who still hasn’t taken lunch. The manager did take the time to share her knowledge about the computer crisis that crippled two out of three registers and left without covering for the girl to take lunch, but leaving her to check us and several others out with a slow system. Good thing that manager is there to regurgitate the news and keep the...
Read moreI recently visited Petco and had an absolutely wonderful experience, all thanks to Ari. My daughter had been feeling quite sad after her beloved hermit crab, Zoidberg, passed away. We decided to visit Petco to find a new pet, and we were fortunate enough to meet Ari, who made the experience truly special.
Ari's knowledge about hermit crabs was impressive. She patiently answered all of our questions and provided detailed information about the care and maintenance of these fascinating creatures. Her passion for the animals was evident in every aspect of her interaction with us. Ali took the time to show my daughter different hermit crabs, explaining their unique characteristics and helping her choose the perfect new companions.
What stood out most was Ari's genuine care and empathy. She understood how much my daughter missed Zoidberg and went out of her way to ensure the new hermit crabs would be a great fit. Ari helped my daughter pick out two hermit crabs, which she has named Zoidberg Jr. and Nibbler. Seeing the joy on my daughter's face as she brought home her new pets was priceless.
Ari's exceptional customer service and her deep knowledge of the animals in the store made our visit to Petco a memorable and positive experience. I highly recommend Petco for anyone looking for a pet, and I cannot thank Ari enough for her kindness and expertise. She truly made a difference...
