See's Candies has THE BEST CHOCOLATES, Bar None! They even sell their Chocolates now at LAX & came to my town, Marina del Rey to the excitement of this fan! Growing up in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, we would have to drive 30-45 minutes to buy some of our favorite chocolates, but it was always well worth it, if not just for the Free Piece of their devine candy ! At Christmas & Hannukah time all the stores have their most popular selections already wrapped! I'm a Dark Chocolate aficionado, well honed by my dear Mother, a true Chocoholic who gave us chocolate milk in our breakfast cereal & even chocolate milk in our bottles! See's sales ladies always wear a crisp white uniform, a big smile, and are always there to help you make your big decision of the day between some of the most delectable treats on the planet! Lately, as my age advances, I have had to switch to Sugar-Free, but I don't fret because their Dark Chocolate covered Almonds, although sugar-free, are absolutely delicious! Presented as a family business, this mega chain owned by the same people that brought you Coca-Cola, exploits the power of marketing and injects sugar in your bloodstream reassuring the customer they have a secret ingredient... Which is on the label of every chocolate box. SUGAR! That would make sense for the kind of candy store See's was before purchased by Warren Buffet back in the 70s. But if you look at the labels and you know anything about chocolate (ask Swiss, Belgians or Google, they won't lie to you) you will notice that the first ingredient on chocolate should be chocolate and not sugar. Not to mention the "sugar-free" options whose main ingredient is a funny chemical called 'maltitol'. Ask Google as well about this bad boy. PS: another overpriced in your face...

The Marina del Rey location has convenient parking, plenty of gift options which can be wrapped with a fancy ribbon upon request, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Today, Sandra helped me purchase a lovely gift for a special someone, and was patient despite managing a busy store. Sandra was pleasant, offered samples per usual, and pointed out some quality add-on purchases upon check-out.
