If you read any of my other reviews, then I don't have to repeat how I have AMC A-List membership, and how AMC Theater chain is my #1 premiere joint. So this time, I'll post a movie review 😀
Just finished seeing "Birds of Prey" in this theater. The film was unexpectedly better than I thought it'd be! Not oscar-worthy or anything, but still good! Near-great performances all around, especially Margot Robbie and Ewan McGregor.
The film had a good balance between staying true to the authentic Batman TAS cartoon sensibility and kinetic energy, while grounding it in (or contrasting it with) real-world gritty ultra-violence. This film is NOT for kids!
I can see why critics (and many DC fanbois such as Yours Truly) enjoyed it. At the same time, I can see how there wasn't enough "special-ness" to make general audiences excited about it.
Just like many other WB/DC films, it was "bold and divisive".
"Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey" is worth a theater visit, IF you have time. And if not, then it is DEFINITELY a "must-rent" 👍🏽 Just make sure the kids are in a...
Read moreI'm sorry... I know it offers the most reasonable prices but every time I go in there it's just pure chaos. The shelves are a mess, there's long checkout lines with usually angry people, it's loud, crowded, and generally unpleasant. Maneuvering through the parking lot requires nerves of steel and a doctorate in NASCAR. There are no clear parking spaces, people just park where they think a space might have been once when this shopping center had 'Best' (look it up, you won't be disappointed) or at a bare minimum, a Circuit City. Take the trip to King of Prussia, it'll feel like you're on a Walmart vacation. Otherwise, not for the faint of heart and chances of losing a relative or friend are at least 70% (though advantageous if you're looking to break up...
Read moreI don't know. It's just okay. There's a few spots in the parking lot that definitely need patching. I don't know if they're potholes or bad patching up of potholes but they need to be taken care of. Also, I'm not too thrilled with coming in the back entrance anymore (that's the entrance that goes past the back of Walmart, what used to be Chubb Institute and leading down to AMC Theater.) Between the renovation of what used to be Chubb Institute and the pallets of the materials that, as far as I know, are Walmart's, I worry about driving back there and running into or over something. But I do like the AMC and I do like Smashburger, although I haven't eaten there in about six months. Every so often, I'll go into Five Below to pick candy...
