So/So.All employees need to be on same page..I took some mens button up dress shirts here. All brand name, Ralph Lauren, Polo, etc. Was told on the phone by s girl employee oh yeah they are definitely looking for men's items. These shirts were fresh from the dry cleaners. This was on a Monday afternoon at about 3pm, about 6 employees behind the counter. I had to sign in and wait 40-45 min and would get a text when they were finished looking through my stuff. I stayed in the store browsing around. Upon looking at some of the clothes (and shoes) i noticed some garments had pulls in the sweater's some had a tiny rip or mark. Some shoes looked like they were more than gently worn. I noticed my items had been looked at and i waited for the text..Nothing. Still 5 or 6 employees behind counter. I finally went to the counter and asked about my stuff, a girl got it and did her speech ..thank you for bringing in ur items but at this time we have to pass, the shirts would be taken but they have a small stain! Excuse me hun? I looked at her with an are u kidding me look. Did she see some of the stuff in there and she said the shirts i had, that were pressed & dry cleaned weren't good enough.. LOL. OK whatever. I really think it depends on which employee looks at ur items. Do they use their own discretion or are they following a policy... I dont think they do. So i looked closely again at my shirts..Hmm where is this stain she spoke of...It was very tiny on the edge of shirt. Now... I also had a friend take item's in one day. They didn't accept them.. She took back THE SAME items the next day, different employee looked at items and guess what... She took them. All Plato's employees need to be on the same page. Not accepting item's one day then take same item's back next day to different employee and they are good enough...?...
Read moreBeen coming here for years and never had a problem with any of the ladies working there. My original review was glowing and had five stars up until recently. The guy working at the counter got nasty because I put my stuff on the side like the ladies always told me to do for the last few years. I told him that they were heavy and put them on the counter anyways despite my temporary medical condition that day. He had the nerve to get an attitude because he could not lift them to take them down from the counter. After the buy he was just throwing them down with an attitude. As I was picking up my items he tossed around, he pushed the stack of their bins to where it hit my head. He did not even apologize when I mentioned it to him. I called a few days later because they did not give me the points for my sell or my purchase and he gave an attitude indicating that he was the store manager and did not have to do anything about it. I mentioned this to a few colleagues at other Plato's and they said they ALL had a problem with this specific employee and that they shop at Clothes Mentor now just because of him. Definitely recommend going to another Plato's if you can. No point dealing with his aggressive assulting attitude if he continues to work there. I will be bringing my items to Uptown. They pay better, and have sold out of all of the items I brought them. They ask me to come back often and are pleasant to their...
Read moreUpdating 2 years later. Having teen daughter I do step by there time to time. They keep closing store without notification. They send notifications for sales and jobs but not for closing, very disrespectful. Sales became more chaotic and out of control (literally last time after checkout I had to point to one of my bags that they "forgot" - not even sure if they checked that bag at all - meaning that they could sell all that stuff with absolutely no profit for me). If you have tons of stuff to sell for any price - then that may work. Otherwise try somewhere else.
Boring weird selection. Tons of blah clothing not necessarily in good shape. Offered them NYDJ classic style, Free People, EileenFisher pants with original tag over $280 etc - everything was rejected as out of style. The only excepted was the most boring slim pair of jeans. I guess they judge based on their on personal style. No wonder I could not find anything for myself there. Do not recommend and not...
