We arrived in the USA three weeks ago for our PhD program. We contacted Spectrum to request the free cell line they promised with our service order, as we have 30 days to request it or we lose the discount. However, since our Social Security Numbers haven’t been issued yet, the Spectrum representative told us to go to the nearest store with our passports and assured us we could resolve the issue there.
The nearest store is two hours away from where we live, but we made the long trip with our two children, one of whom has special needs, only to be told in the store that without a Social Security Number, there was nothing they could do, and that we would lose the discount.
In other words, you can sign up for the service and pay full price without a Social Security Number, but when it comes to receiving the promised discount, you’re out of luck if you don’t have one yet. It doesn’t make sense. It’s frustrating to be misled by a company, waste money traveling to another city, and then hear that they can’t help you. I don’t recommend Spectrum to anyone. Their employees don’t even seem to know how their own policies work, and they make you waste time and money for nothing. They’re only interested in selling; customer care and service quality are clearly not...
Read moreI'm not one to typically complain or write negative reviews. But when I do, it's usually because my experience was so bad and nothing corrected that I feel I need to write one!
My sales rep was friendly and nice. She sold me TV package, mobile phone, mobile service, and internet. All went smooth.
Days later I start to find out she wasn't completely honest about what I would be paying, and she wasnt straight forward with the hoops I'd have to jump through to bring my mother's line to my account.
I've been on and off the phone with spectrum for about 4 plus hours now trying to figure out how to move my mom's line. Finally figured that out.
Then I look at my bill and realize the price is ALOT more than she originally quoted me! The mobile customer service has no information on the TV/internet side and vice versa. But spectrum offers a package that includes a deal for both. Then the customer service people hang up on you, not just once but several times lol!
Add to that I dropped my new phone yesterday, my fault totally but spectrum doesn't sell cases for all the phones they sell so I was awaiting on one from Amazon.
I would recommend going elsewhere for mobile service, it was a pretty...
Read moreNot a customer they trespassed on my property running service to my house I didn't ask for. Made them come remove it an they had the attitude about it. Stay off my land seems like a simple request. An no this is not a easement deal. They were in the wrong then had attitude with me about it.
Update after wanting nothing but an apology an getting the run around. Derek Marier agreed to come out to the property I was going to show them home cameras that didn't support their techs claims. He says he showed up but didn't knock or call even though it was agreed upon meeting. When called on this disrespectful act Derek Marier told his supervisor I threatened to shoot him. This didn't happen but hypothetically if it did I can't understand why he didn't alert the authority?? The Summary is they trespassed, property damage, slander. I can't recommend to stay away from this company enough. Again I was never a customer wanted a simple explanation as to why with no notification I had a tech with a ladder against my bedroom window. They seem to think that was fine I'm going to agree to disagree . See you in court...
