This store IS incredibly full of books, however there is little to no organization and the "sections" are vaguely labelled at best. The place is incredibly cluttered, dusty, smelly, and there are SO MANY books (shelved, stacked, piled, stuffed into boxes, etc) that the walkways and staircases are almost dangerous to travel and the numerous shelves and cases seem liable to topple or collapse at any time. There are dead plants and empty Capri Sun bags and mounds of melted candles (open flames seem doubly dangerous in such an overstuffed store). The person who was manning the desk (which is tucked off to the side amongst the piles and is not easy to see upon entry) seemed semi-annoyed when we walked in, maybe because we interrupted her watching Comedy Central on her computer. I overheard her tell another customer that they do most of their business online these days, and I can see why - there's practically no way for a street customer to comfortably navigate the store and peruse the inventory. I would only give one star, but the store will get one extra star from me because they truly do have a TON of books - just good luck finding anything (or having fun doing it) because it's like an episode of "Hoarders" in there. It's a nice, big, old building, and I was excited when I pulled up. I was, however, TOTALLY disappointed when I left (without buying...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePast reviews have said this store was crammed full, disorganized and the lady who ran it was odd or strange. Well, this was only partly true. Yes the store was very full but this was due to the proprietor wanting to offer as wide a selection as possible and perhaps to some of us it was disorganized BUT that so called strange/odd lady could literally find anything you asked for in mere moments, if she had it. The strange/odd part ? A few moments of talking with her would convince you that you were talking with a warm, friendly and eminently intelligent Lady. A Grand Dame of the literary world. Sadly, a few years ago that great lady passed on. Now, in 2018, this store is being run by that Grand Dames daughter. Just as warm and friendly as her Mom. A lot of the old stock thatās been there for years has been and is being rotated out and newer stock rotated in. Sections are being expanded or contacted as is warranted and the new sections are very organized. While this is a process that will still take some time to complete, it is well on its way. I stop in here regularly in my book searches and it is definitely on my short list of used book stores to check when Iām on the hunt for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI picked up reading again and wanted to find a good book store that felt welcoming and this book store did just that. Not only am I able to trade in books and get a percentage off the lady who works there is amazing! I went in to find a book for my flight and she pointed me in the right direction I walked out with 3 books 2 of which she suggested and loved. Spoiler alert I read them both in 2 weeks, loved them so much I went back in and bought the rest of the series and the 2nd book to the 2 series she suggested (I bought another 3 books and came back that Friday for another) moral of all this is this book store is 10 out of 10 and the customer service is top tier to the point I'd go back to the store just to have a friendly conversation with the lady who helped me pick...
