We visited Dos Agave for the first time on our trip to Marysville, Washington recently. My husband read goid reviews of this place so we decided to try it. We were surprisingly delighted to see a colorful happy atmosphere. The tables were big and clean, the decor was nicely done. I didn't like how the booths felt when we sat so we moved to the table bench seating instead. The seating in the booth was too low and tight to the table for me and being short doesn't help at all.

I liked the colorful murals and big felted sombreros hanging on the walls. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the free nachos that were warm and freshly made with two types of salsas. My husband had the beef tacos with rice and beans and I had the vegetarian fajitas. The vegetables came in a hot steaming cast iron plate served with rice and beans and 4 tortillas. It was delicious and piping hot. The lime margarita was a bit too strong for me as I am not much of a drinker but it was flavourful. There was free wifi and the waitress gave us the password which was a plus as we had turned off our data when visiting the US. The waiters were attentive to our needs and spoke perfect English which we were thankful as our Spanish is very limited. They checked back with us a few times and gave us everything we needed to make our visit very pleasant. Overall we really liked Dos Agave and will definitely...

Going in for a critical review.

Food was alright. The portions are great, very filling but lacks the flavor. We noticed that the taco salad, a Tex mex dish, was very watered out. And it wasn’t because of the lettuce, it was almost as everything is cooked so fast, the water from the ice never got a chance to evaporate

My platter looked delicious, but fell short. The fish was undercooked and raw towards the bones. It was deep fried but could’ve stayed in there a bit longer. Tilapia’s in the Mexican cuisine when deep fried are typically fried to the point you can crunch the smaller bones and the tail.

The atmosphere was great. Very cute, very home like, very traditional. Service was alright, very nice folks, can’t complain much there

Would we recommend? We would not Would we come back? Yes!

We hope this review doesn’t discourage any staff or owner, we try to be as unbiased as possible. As we are looking for a new home go to spot for Mexican food after moving...

Please be aware that if you pay with a card they charge you 4 percent for using a card. I spent 80.00 on food and paid 4.00 for using my card then during covid you would think they would encourage people not to sit in there restaurant instead they charge for your to go boxes. This should be posted on the outside of the door that if your using a card theres a charge and if you have to go order they charge also. Your saving when you dont have to do dishes and less exposure for their staff. Really feels like your being nickle and dimed. I paid it but was pleasantly shocked when I was told the 4 percent, I then looked at my receipt and realized the charge for to-go which wasn't posted or told to me. I haven't tried the food yet but feel disappointed. I even stated to the lady, with an 80.00 order there should be some give. I get it if i was only spending 10 bucks...

This might be the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in the Seattle area. The exterior and the surroundings definitely do not scream “amazing food,” but if you take a chance and walk inside you will be greeted with generous portions of fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked, moist meats, bottomless, homemade tortilla chips, amazing salsa, and margaritas that will snap your head back. We definitely did not expect this hole-in-the-wall on the corner to come through like it did. Everything was well prepared, everything tasted like someone cared, the service was great, and the bill was totally reasonable. We do not live in the area, but we will definitely make the drive back just to come here. If you are in the area—hell, even if you are not, go to this place. You will not be disappointed.
