Hawaii Hunters — Local services in Maui

A REVIEW THAT MATTERS AND IS LEGIT FROM A DIFFICULT CUSTOMER! I got into archery about 11 years ago on the mainland. I have hunted deer, bear, mountain lion, you name it. I was heartbroken when my local shop moved out of state. We did 3d tournaments and I have bought bowtec, pse, bear, mathews and hoyt compounds, and a martin recurve recurve and my buddy always did the service. I never ever trusted anyone else. Then I went to another local shop to have my prized compound bow restrung. Somehow, the bow was never right after that. The sight was barely hanging in there from being out of adjuatment, the arrows were not consistent. I put it away when I moved to hawaii and left it in the case for a year. I decided to take it out today and adjust it but still terrible. Then I noticed the rest was not in the right position and one of the limbs had different spacing. Reluctantly, I decided to take it to a shop. I never let anybody touch it because I am super picky and nobody is good enough. IN Less than 30 minutes at this shop it was perfect, Shot like a bullet and everything was flawless. I'm glad I gave this shop a chance rather than giving up on my bow. I have been around a lot of pros and this place is top notch. I'm not new, I'm not intermediate, I am advanced. You can take this recommendation to the bank BECAUSE I AM EXTREMLY PICKY. Of course they are great for anyone wanting to do archery. However, you will find only a few select shops anywhere that really know what they are doing. I can't say enough about this place and I will be a life long customer. It's a tough business to keep going no matter where you live. My husband came into the shop looking for a bow for our 17 year old son. Knowing pretty much nothing about bows, Mailani helped us decide on not only a Hoyt Torrex but also the case, and trigger. On top of that she explained that it was a good idea for the bow to be adjusted before we took it, and we could add in a peep 👀 to the string, which the owner Dana does right in the store. Again we had no clue this even was offered, and without her taking the time to care we would have just walked out with the bow. We returned the next day to pick up the bow and Dana also took the time to tell us all about the bow we purchased and even showed us his. I’ve visited Hawaii Hunters in person pretty much everytime I’ve visited Maui. It’s your one stop shop for everything hunting! Quality goods and friendly staff!

I recently ordered a 365 target from them and because I live on Oahu, I’d have to get it shipped here. Their staff was able to make the whole shipping process seamless. Got the target out within a few days and kept me informed the whole time. Highly recommend their services if any other hunters from the neighboring islands want to give it a go. Support local!
