We had an awesome trip this morning! Saw a bunch of whales. Caught a bunch of fish, from Snapper, to Jack, even Mahi Mahi. All light tackle (basically inshore gear), so you can actually fight the fish rather than just winching it in. Catching a ~20lb mahi on beefed up Bass gear was something special! Way way way better than trolling around for 8 hours with some of the other guys, with a possible chance of catching something...If anyone has done that, you know how much that can suck. Not to mention, the guides we had Jim and John were really cool, and helpful. That's a big part of it, having good dudes guiding can make or break a trip, regardless of how the fishing is. You can tell the guides John & Jim really know their stuff. And at the end of the trip, they filleted all the fish for us...we took it all to the Hula Grill to cook it up....

We scheduled a 3 hour fishing charter on a Tuesday. But the winds were blowing pretty hard. The captain said we could go out but we’d have a hard time. Instead we rescheduled for Thursday morning. No problem. We hit the water at 430am, With Captain Ryan.who happens to be from our own city on the mainland. Super cool guy . Put us on the fish immediately. Was my wife’s first time fishing. Of course she caught a monster. Ryan explained everything in detail , showed us how to use the rods and safety measures. I can’t recommend this place enough! We caught a bunch of keepers. Ryan cleaned and filleted them right there. Even caught a couple sushi grade fish. Of course we ate some right in the boat! Thanks Ryan and UFO for the experience...
