This is not a positive review
They are a small business and it's not worth hurting their rating because I disagree with their practices. Like the other negative reviews, I was only there to sell my Lego. I wanted store credit as it would be the most value and I'm still collecting. I'll start off by saying I read the detailed description regarding selling on their website before entertaining the process. Since I live about an hour and a half away I decided to email photos and get the process started. Unfortunately, that accomplished almost nothing. It would have been more helpful for them to say "oh you have knowledge of what Lego is worth and you have custom figs, don't bother, we offer pennies on the dollar". But no, I took the drive. I did this on a weekend when they don't evaluate the value, which was an inconvenience but it is what it is. They evaluated my lot in a day or two which I appreciated but I was actually insulted by the offer. Then to add to this insult they couldn't provide an itemized list as to what each fig or set was worth. The rabbit hole of a joke got even deeper as they said they don't have experience pricing out custom figs... You sell B3 Customs!!! I just couldn't believe how brazen they were with their low ball offer, no room to negotiate and the advice of selling on marketplace. You're a brick and mortar store. You're getting destroyed by online competition yet that's what you suggest??? Crazy business model... Especially when they sell brand new Lego sets at the same price as the Lego store or lego.com where you earn points for more Lego. Why buy here, why sell here? Overall, I wasn't impressed and have no use for this store which is unfortunate. I have a huge collection and could have been a revolving door for their buy/sell program. As stated above they are a local business and shouldn't be hurt in the ratings. The staff was friendly they are just held back by being...
Read moreBricks & Minifigs is a really neat buy/sell/trade Lego store. They have pre-built models for sale if you're more interested in the display than the creation process, and they have lots of minifigs from a variety of sets that you can purchase individually (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings) including some rarer characters that you may not have realized existed as a minifig. There is a Duplo play area for little ones near the entrance, and the times we've been so far there has been a scavenger hunt one time and a raffle the other right inside the door as well. Around the edges you can find new sets for purchase and build plates, including the standard single-color ones and some with designs on them. In the center there is a large pick-your-own bulk Lego section with 5 different size options (two plastic tub sizes and three bag options up to a fairly expensive 5 gallon bag), which may be slightly costly but you get to choose exactly which bricks and other pieces to fill your container with as long as you can find the pieces you're looking for. They had a half-off discount during the post-Thanksgiving time which made the prices much more palatable and was a great deal. Next to the bulk part tables there is a create-your-own minifig spot with options for legs, torsos, heads, and accessories and lots of pre-customized minifigs in plastic balls if you're not in a creative mood. There is a party room in which you can host birthday parties -- we haven't hosted or attended one so I'm not sure what that entails. The staff are very friendly. It's an excellent spot to stop before Pump It Up parties if you happen to be the super punctual type and you'd be too early or you need to purchase a party gift as it's right around the corner or, if you're more like us, a great place to stop by after you leave a party to pick up some new...
Read moreThis LEGO store was a real treat. I had plans to come here once I heard about it when I was looking around for places to buy LEGOs on Google Maps. I stumbled across it recently. I went to the Greenville Brick Convention and first saw their business there. I got a card from them for a free mini fig to make of my choosing. So when I finally had the chance, I asked my younger brother to come, and he totally said he would. My younger brother also got a card to use as well. So we drove an hour to this store, and when my eyes stumbled on the Bricks and Minifigs sign, I was in awe. I walked in, and I was welcomed with very friendly smiles of the workers, and I believe the owners were there too. Anyway, I heard about filling a "pumpkin Spice Latte" cup of Legos for $3.99 (heard from their Instagram), and I had a coupon, so making the trip there was worth it, I wasn't expecting how much stuff there was. I was in there for over an hour, picking bricks to add to my personal collection. As you can see in the photo, I got more than what I intended for. The weird rectangle is an awesome, never-ending LEGO fidget that you can play with, and it's very entertaining ($8). I also got official LEGO Finn (Star Wars character), which was only $7, which is hecka cheap! Also, that little sphere you see is mini Star Wars ships, like the classic Landspeeder driven by Luke Skywalker! Whoever created those has an amazing sense of detail ($6 for 1). I spent only $30 here, well worth my money, and supporting this great business! Another nice thing they had was a "bin of shame" for those sneaky non-LEGO products that made there way in the picking brick bins! The customer service is well treated, and I'm so coming...
