I love shopping at Meijer. One of my favorite things is their SHOP & SCAN feature on their app. It makes shopping SO much easier AND keeps you on track as to exactly what youâre spending. Itâs so so easy to do!! First, you just grab bags at one of the registers (or bring your own)ânext, bring up the SHOP & SCAN feature on their Meijer appâthen just walk around and scan what you want with your phoneâafter you scan the barcode, you simply put it in one of your bags and continue with your shopping until youâre done (It even reminds you if there are coupons that need clipping!). Once youâre finished with everything and you have all your bags loaded with your grocery items you go to the self check out. When there you click âcheckoutâ on the Meijer app and it will have you scan a barcode. After that, an employee will come upâas they are required to approve the SHOP & SCAN order, and normally have to check anywhere from 2 to 6 random items you bought (depending on the amount of the groceries you got). Of course this is to ensure no one is taking items they havenât paid for. Once they do that, you pay and you leave!!!! Once I found out about the SHOP AND SCAN feature, I donât like shopping without it anymore!!! Itâs incredibly convenient. One thing I recently learned after using this feature for a few months is that you get double the mPerks rewards points!!! AND they have such a GREAT point systemâ For instance, with anywhere from 2 to 4 times (of normal grocery shopping) Iâve earned enough reward points to get a DOLLAR OFF per gallon of gas right there at their gas station! Or you can use it for $10 off your shopping trip or you can use it for other things. Perhaps one of my favorite things about shopping there though is the door guest greeter, Mark! đ Mark has been there for quite a while now and he ALWAYS has a good joke to tell you when you walk in the door or some quote to make you smileâŚhe is so genuine in his kindness and he just honestly wants those around him to be happy. In my opinion, which I am sure I am not alone in, Mark is truly a huge asset to the Meijer in McHenry. He is just a...
Read moreFriendly staff that don't tend to rush customers like a lot of stores do. I pay with cash a lot lately and most stores have employees who've already mumbled "have a good day" and started ringing up the next person before I've even had a chance to put my change in my purse, let alone have time to put it in order in my bank envelope or wallet. Very frustrating, rarely happens to me at Meijer. Typically clean store without a ton of stuff out of place because customers changed their mind about a product and put a pack of room temp. ground beef on a bread shelf (yes, I have seen that and more at Walmart). I'm also not being blocked or pushed into product that's sitting in an aisle waiting to be put away when I visit!!! That's a big deal for me. Most times I've needed to use the restrooms in the past 15 years for anything from the usual, to diaper changes, to just a quick hand wash, they've been in great condition as well. My youngest just stopped asking to see the fish about a year ago, but from the time my 16 year old was 2 and asking "fissy?", enough attention has been paid that they don't have dead fish floating around the scare the kiddos like every Walmart I've ever taken them to has. So, they employees are either well trained to watch for anything that might make the store look bad or have managers that really don't like to hear customer complaints about it, I prefer to think that these people take pride in their work and realize that how the store looks does reflect on them đ. No complaints about the quality or selection of products at all (although certain deli type items are going to be sold out within 2-3 hours of store closing), it's the prices that get me. Between the 3 stores I'm likely to go to for my everyday needs, Meijer is the most expensive by a long shot. Unfortunately, it's not usually related to the quality of the product since I can usually get similar or better quality at my preferred store for a much...
Read moreThis is my usual grocery store that we shop at, I see that they are trying to do what they can to keep things safe , but a lot of disappointment when I see customers coming in without their face mask and nobody says anything to them they just let them in. Also, the parking lot is filthy- can't anyone push a broom there, when you are walking in the door you can see all of this, doesn't the management ever go out front to look at this; there are cigarette butts everywhere, masks, gloves, wrappers its terrible. I know some of the managers are frustrated with some of the help who are always standing around the service desk area doing what appears to be nothing. I had witnessed one of the managers trying to explain to one of the employees who has been employed there for a while, she seemed like she just didn't care at all for what he was saying to her, he was explaining to her that she needed to open more registers, HE GETS IT!!, here you have 4 cashiers working hard and sometimes you need to have one or two more registers open just to get thru the rush, get these lazy people off there butts and on the register. If you take care of the busy time and spend the money on the employees (by having themtrained properly) you would have happier customers and more business because no other store in town does that, so be a stand out store with great hospitality and great service. Meijer spend a couple of dollars get them trained right or cut them loose. Maybe the employee then would appreciate their jobs more. If your managers are compassionate about there work and their employees you can have the best store in town. Your business is only as good as your best employee. kudos to that manager that I witnessed. I...
